BACK FROM THE DEAD!! I was randomly google searching my name for a thread in nabsico OT when I came across this old thread. I have a good bit of info that might come in handy. www.smallcar.com puts out a shift kit for the SVX that's basically a pressure operated switch which cuts the resistor in que...

The 92 and 93 models were speed limited by teh CPU based on RPMs, and the later models were limited by the CPU based on vehicle speed. I guess they figured ~154mph was a little quick, and decided to cut the speed off before the rev limiter  :D . hmm... could have just quoted cars101.com : "...

subyluvr: From Subaru-SVX.com - How is driving a Subaru SVX like being in the Bermuda Triangle? If you're in either of them long enough, you're going to lose your bearings. How is driving a Subaru SVX like being chased by a lion? In either case, you're going to hear a loud roar coming from behind yo...

Thanks for the kind words, guys :D . I was real pleased when I saw her in person and she was as nice as the auction pics made her out ot be. those pics are from the auction... I have yet to take any of my own. The tranny is barely 10k miles old, so I can't really justify swapping it out yet. But whe...

Finally got another Subaru
Figured I'd share the love here too. So glad to be behind the wheel of another Scooby. I picked up a red '94 SVX LSi on Ebay. just so happened that this guy was local to me, and had exactly what I'd been looking for for about 2 years now. I've been on the hunt for a local SVX in very good mechanical...

Hehe. thanks for the random bump. I still miss my legacy. I actually lurk here quite a bit still. I've got all this EJ22t knowledge in my head... I like to put it to use and help people out every now and then :D . There's a white 5MT '94 SS I'm tempting myself with nearby. I dunno if I'll end up get...

You're talking about Manray right? that place used to be a haunt of mine. haven't made it out there in a while. that place was so much fun :D . good luck in everything Suby.. I don't check in to this place nearly as often as I should, but it's always a very welcoming place to check into. I've run in...

I kinda doubt it's the rear main too. I've never heard of one going in a suby as far as I can remember. which is why I was so speculative on how it would manifest itself. It's my best guess given the way she's describing it  . certainly worth checking tho. a slow rear main leak in an auto is *...

hmm.. rear main seal? check where the engine meets the tranny. look through the little window where you can see the torque converter. I'm pretty sure if there's oil on it that would be your rear main seal. I dunno... never seen a rear main seal leak firsthand but I imagine some oil would end up on t...

I feel I should point out that subafreak is currently running a plain ol' EJ22 with a turbo from an EJ22T in his Loyale. I think he's even still using stock EJ22 engine management, too. no kidding? props to him. People who soup up the old EA series subies are kickass in my book. that thing must scr...

i am very familiar with honda engines, i have a 94 acura integra, and i put together a custom turbo setup, along with a hondata standalone engine management system, and as far as the subaru, i am not going for making crazy HP numbers, just want something fun to play around with to learn a little ab...

in case you're still not sure about this (it's been a bit since your last post but you haven't replied yet :D )..... it makes a LOT of difference. I noticed the boost come on a bit later, but a LOT stronger. presumably beacuse the more convoluted path is harder for the slower air to travel. or some ...

The NA EJ22 doesn't respond well to turbocharging. you can't expect much of a gain unless you put some time, money, and a lot of effort into it. in all honesty, dropping an EJ22t into it will be cheaper and easier than turbo'ing it. just out of curiosity, what is your past turbocharging experience i...

THAWA has it right. auto is 50/50 in 1st and starts to change over in second. it's 90/10 through 3rd and 4th. but it'll snap righ tback to 50/50 if it detects slip. MT is 55/45 f/r in all gears the 4EAT has a much more sophisticated AWD system. acts faster, compensates better. the MT is basically tr...

Hey man, why not check your TPS just for kicks? if it's screwy, that may be your problem. the computer does indeed calculate timing and fuel delivery based on TPS inputs. TPS is VERY important. prolly more so than the o2 sensor. just give it a check. should be a simple test with a voltmeter. if it's...
