EJ25D head - coolant plug?
I'm thinking this is a plug for coolant, but I'm not 100%. It pretty much mirrors where one would tap the other side for coolant to the turbo. I'm glad I pulled the motor, because I never would have seen this. Not sure how I missed that. Since I still need to use the coolant expansion tank with a tu...

Re: UHEV Legacy Version 2.0
Due to Derek giving up on the Subaru powerplant in his car, I had to take advantage. Rails from Outfront Motorsports, and I have a line on some 1600cc injectors for a great price. I should have my 900cc denso injectors and rails up for sale soon. I just need the peak-and-hold injector driver from FJ...

Sorry I didn't reply. What kind of input do you need? It tells you the turbo RPM, so you know exactly what the turbo is doing and where you are hitting the compressor map.
Re: BURN OIL?
Anything fancy is a waste of money. Burn the oil, and replace it with more dino oil. Subie run long time....

These are not DSM's where you can slap a few parts on and rock & roll.

Pull the harness out of a car in the junkyard?
I know all the stuff at Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, etc, is not the same, but it works. Unless you have a hookup for something from Thomas & Betts, or some other telecom supplier, you are going to have a hard time. Good luck.

Re: BURN OIL?
It all depends on how the car was treated and driven before you purchased it. Mine burns about a quart every thousand miles, yet still runs like an open sore and has decent fuel economy. Check the oil once a week, and you'll get a lot more miles out of it.

The pics are not high enough resolution to see the wear on the plugs.
If you are having issues when depressing the brake pedal, plugs are not your issue. Look elsewhere.

If you state your budget, we can work from there. Otherwise, there will be a lot of ideas that are not necessary and expensive.
Re: Power Q's
^ This. And by "blow his trans," what do you actually mean? A STOCK 6mt is capable of putting a car into the 9's given enough power. P&L seems to like it enough to use a stock 6 speed on their drag car running 9's with drag tires. If that isn't a lot of shock-loading, I don't know what...
Re: Power Q's
Out-launching them means having a drivetrian that can handle it. An STi can take a 5k clutch side-step. Can you?

^ LOL. Have thought about why it's illegal? Did you read any of the previous posts? Let alone, look at the back of a 5x114 STi BBS wheel? They were manufactured with one bolt pattern in mind....
Re: Power Q's
Wasn't saying you should change your setup. Just keep it all in perspective. Enjoy the car with what you have into it, even if STi's give you trouble.

Re: Power Q's
Piggybacks do not give you full control over tuning. They give you a lot, but it is not the same ballpark as a standalone. Smaller ports do not increase torque. They just move the RPM band where the heads are efficient. The EJ22T heads are pretty snappy down low, but this makes racing difficult sinc...
Re: Power Q's
Fretting on numbers is foolish. Dynos vary significantly between model, climate, and elevation. That said, having the same turbo and injectors as an STi puts you at a significant disadvantage since the STi engine makes the EJ22T look stupid in terms of airflow, not to mention displacement. Besides, ...

Re: Auto Trans Shift Kit
You are altering how fluid pressure is applied to the clutches in the transmission. If swapping a transmission is pushing it in terms of your ability, then this reprogramming kit will be WAY out of reach. You must go deep inside the transmission to complete the installation, along with drilling some...

Derek's (whitelegacyguy) car had a transmission with MUCH more done to it than just the Trans-Go kit. It can be reproduced, but costs a hefty amount.

Re: 48÷2(9+3) = ??
^ I'm with you. Implied multiplication does not have precedence. Since 48÷2(9+3=48÷2*(9+3), there shouldn't be an issue. Due to the nature of typing equations on a single line, there can be a lot of ambiguity and some people assume precedence of inplied multiplication vs. explicit. There was a major...

I want to let this go a bit before I chime in. This turned into an 8 page argument on MNSubaru, and more than that on several other forums.
Here's a hint: Does implied multiplication have precedence or not?

Re: Standalone for E85
The ECU doesn't care what fuel you use. However, some make it a little easier to run low impedence top-feed injectors in a peak-and-hold format, like Bosch 1600's. At the end of the day, fuel is fuel and timing is timing. They all essentially do the same thing, but can go about it in slightly differ...

Re: Windshield molding removal
The trim on each side of the windshield is supposed to be removed by pulling the weatherstripping off and removing the screws that hold the rail and trim on.
I had a car where some windshield hack, I mean tech, broke it in the same fashion.
