And the E is what is known as designation of fuel delivery. It stands for a SOHC MPFI non-turbo charged engine...[/quote]So all EJ2.2 non turbo blocks are open deck blocks?

Thanks for that info, I was under the impression that the non turbo had the same closed deck block, the piston squirters I wasn't sure about either.

Bad turbo engine need info on swamp.

I have purchased a relativly low mi. ej2.2 nonturbo engine at a good price and am wondering if I can assemble as the turbo using the ej2.2t turbo engine parts. What parts are different internally besides the pistons, cams? Is the C.Ratio too high to use the non turbo pistons? anyone-thanks!

I live in Minneapolis, I have aquired a 94 awd legacy with a 160 rounds with a turbo engine for $200. I am a mechanic. Crankshaft cancer

Thanks Steve, As I said I have not touched anything yet on this engine. If there is 2 cyl. with bad comp. there is a good chance its unrelated to the crank problem. I am just evaluating what I am up against here. If a guy found a junkyard motor would all years 90-94 bolt up & connect universally?

I need to know if any of you folks can tell me other problems or damage that may have occured to the valve/timing or otherwise. I have not run the engine. I am told it will start but is very noisy. It has had the balancer repla...
