err, no, i gapped mine at .030 instead of .044 :D also, i change them every 2 oil changes, just to be sure since i don't want misfires again, basic NGK coppers, not iridium or any other fancy ones. Haven't had a problem since. here's the thread i started on the local board in Toronto http://www.toro...

hmm, having a new starter on hand couldn't hurt, but when mine died, it sounded a hell of a lot worse. don't know if anyone mentioned it or not, or if you've already figured it out: left to right, front to back 1,2 front cylinder numbers 3,4 back cylinder numbers firing order is 1,3,2,4 the book has...

sorry i'm just logging in now... good to hear you've gotten to the bottom of it. pump shot? i'm not sure how the filter works... if it is one way... and you were hooked up wrong... it could be broken, as well as the pump. If it isn't one way, then it should be fine? meant to ask you what are your pl...

it says a fuel pressure gauge, i assume like what you would put inside a gauge pillar. as for is your FPR too big? funny you mention that. had a friend with a ver2 sti swap in his 93 wagon. For some reason the previous owner put in a monster regulator, and it caused all sorts of problems. He ended u...

That sucks. I have no suggestions... my starting problems always seem to be electrical-related. It sounds like maybe you've isolated the problem though? Here are the two entries from the Haynes manual. Maybe something will jump at you? If something does, i can look up the related troubleshooting ste...

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y299/jlee_toronto/IMG_0495.jpg round thing next to the wrx coolant resevoir. Between brake fluid and windshield washer. you may be on to something. rails and injectors shouldn't make too much of a difference (people swap them all the time), but a different regulator...

with the amount of time and effort you've clearly put into it, can't see you having any problems.

Best of luck!

I haven't done it myself, no money at the moment... NICOIWRX has... stock ecu for a 91-94 series turbo legacy is tunable. But the shop that did it is out here near Toronto. Maybe you could send the ecu in for a base map but i'm pretty sure you'd rather have it dyno tested and tuned right? Maybe they...

lol, i'm thoroughly enjoying watching this... Think i've killed the clutch in mine (or at least terrified of driving it because it'll break down on my 140km drive somewhere)... can't afford time or money to get it fixed right now... so i'm living vicariously. carry on! by the way, what's giving you ...

i'm going to go look at the junkers for a set of NA fuelrails...

can anyone tell me the process for pulling the injectors out of the rails?

looking at the rails + injectors i have, undid the bolt-on caps, and the injectors don't seem to budge.

they came off of a 94 legacy gt wagon. you could do something to the wrx ones to make them fit probably, you would need a heat gun because they are probably abs. now i just need a rear lip... :D lol, they're actually about 1.5" shorter then they need to be. But with all my awesome fiberglass e...

hmmm, something to consider i guess. I haven't done ALL of the research into it, but my friend says that the new 05+ Legacy turbo, uses the same type of transmission as the 98 RS. The clutch is the same part # between the two cars. I would assume that this means the p-plate would work as well. If it...

on a similar train of thought, friend of mine is planning on converting his car to propane, the way cops and taxis run out here. conversion is rather expensive (think he said around the $3k mark) but propane is HALF the cost of gas up here. If i could reduce my gas bill in half, this thing would pay...

I'm a little torn between the new Bully clutch kit ($650 parts only) and a used setup from my friends new Leggy turbo... used RPS Pressure Plate and a brand new (still sealed in package) ACT performance clutch ($200). Parts numbers are for a 98 RS. He says he was putting down 250/295 at the wheels a...

Tranny swap on level of difficulty was probably harder then it should have been. What we should have done was find a 92-94 Legacy turbo 5spd for parts. We didn't because there wasn't anything with low mileage around or from a trusted source, and i think also because my friend had all the RS parts re...

HAHAHAHA, bought a pressure washer... knew that i would take off some of the wheel arch rust, but OMG, i hit a chip on the drivers fender! think after all was said and done, it grew from the size of a dime, to a 1' x 0.5' of exposed primer! :D so the next step was to clean up the rust and this big s...

really? i thought that was the only way to go bigger?
I'm all for finding a set of yellow top side feeds.
how do the injectors come out?
i was playing with the new set, and i can't seem to remove them from the rails.

I plan on getting it tuned almost immediately after i install the new injectors.
