1st gen Legacy is officially a Japanese Nostalgic Car

Not sure about our car being nostalgic, but I found a newly published article from Japanese Nostalgic Car about the 1st gen Legacy. Thought I would share. Part 1 of 2 http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2014/12/30/the-subaru-legacy-turns-25-part-01/ Part 2 of 2 http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2015/01/01...

Re: 1993 Liberty/Legacy turbo wagon -- Oh, the joy of motori

A sequel has just been released!!! It's mainly about swapping all the goodies from the original rusty car to a good conditioned replacement shell.

Re: 91 EJ22 N/A - coolant "drinking problem"

UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Thank you Mike-tracy and Legacy777 for your feedback and advice. The cause of my problem was very similar to Mike's. Instead of crappy hose clamps, I found an unnoticeable crack on the side of the upper radiator hose. I wouldn't have known until I popped the hood and held t...

91 EJ22 N/A - coolant "drinking problem"

Hey guys, I have a 91 Legacy L wagon with a bone stock EJ22 currently at 210K on the clock. The head gasket is replaced at 160k and I've never have any problems with the car. Recently, about every 500 miles, the coolant would just "disappear" to the point that the reservoir becomes empty a...

EJ20H engine swap

Just came across this eBay listing for the twin turbo EJ20H engine and a 2nd gen Legacy right hand drive non-runner. Does this belong to someone here? I've always wanted something special and BOOSTED :-D I'm wondering if any of you here have done the EJ20H swap? The hardware included in the pictures...

Tone-us, I also got the same exact VW rims for free and planning on putting them in on my 91 Legacy. Talk about a coincidence :-D But mine is a wagon however. Now I got a few Q's for you... 1. What type of lug nuts did you use? What's their length? 2. Is your car lowered in your later pics? Or does ...

FS: Valet 712T Keyless Entry System (made by DEI) *NEW*

I bought two of these keyless entries for my cars, one of them being my '91 Legacy wagon. It works flawlessly with the Legacy and I was pleasantly surprised with all the extra features that comes with the 712T. I just don't have tme to do the install again in my other car so I'm selling my remaining...

I'm not sure you CAN do dual-stage unlocking on our cars. Although, if you went into each door and the tailgate, I suppose you could splice into actuators there. I know there is one in the tailgate. But that's waaaay more trouble than it's worth. And you'd need two relays for each circuit. Thanks f...

AFAIK you NEED to use an actuator to control the locks -- you can't splice into wires. And when you do use an actuator, you can't use two-step unlocking -- alll the doors and the tailgate will unlock all at once. Thanks for your reply. I've already got an actuator as I'm awared that I need one for ...

Sup guys. I'm trying to install a Valet 712T keyless entry for my 1991 Legacy wagon. David's info (thefultonhow) in this thread is especially helpful on splicing the correct wires (thanks man :D ). However, I'm having trouble to identify the rest of the wires to complete the install. I need to locat...
