Re: GODZIRRA! 90 Legacy Wagon Project.
No new updates i am afraid. Schedule problems and shortage of funds have stoped me for now. I am still trying to find an affordable np205. The diff will be center mounted, I am using 4wd 1/2 ton chevy IFS knuckles. The diff will clear the OP no problem at this point. The cinder block shots are close...

Progress! I also made some more descions on drivetrain. I will be running a np203/205 doubler twin sticked. 4:1 low with 4:56 gears should be noice! Some work on the front frame. Also some death metal artistry that will be added throughout. My theme is Godzllia so I figured diamond for reptile...

Re: Just picked this beast up (pics)
I just picked this car up from a buddy. It was fully prepped by Rocket Rally and OMP. I know it has been a race car since 1999 and and has a "hybrid turbo" setup. I'm not really sure what that means. Under the hood it also says "Subaru turbo intercooler". Any hoo so I fucked up ...

Re: At a loss (transmission and differenial fluid change)
Is this an automatic? If so sounds like the fluid is not right. Slipping maybe? Usually they slip when hot unless it's low on fluid. MT's are usually pretty forgiving on fluid level, needs to be full but.... Did you use factory recomended viscosities? Also if you did the diff is it a rear lsd? Some ...

You can helicoil, it's gonna be tough to get to with the motor in the car. I don't think you'll have to pull the head if you vacum out the cylinder when your done.

Re: GODZIRRA! 90 Legacy Wagon Project.
Thanks!
I probably won't get much done this week. I need to go junkyard hunting today to find my diffs. They should be easy to find so hopefully I can get some deals.
Also need to get the car cleaned out as it has become a catch-all for junk.

Re: GODZIRRA! 90 Legacy Wagon Project.
It's gonna take a long time to get to the end. Progress is good though. I got the starter mounted and tested today. YES! I also had some time to see what this is gonna look like. I "placed" the motor and trans to see where they set. I need to take out the pitch stop mount ad some of the tr...

Unless you have agreed value insurance good luck. They have to used nada, blue, black books for value.
Liek said above unless you can prove high dollar added items with reciepts then i'd say fight all you want but in the end it's up to them.

I question his choice to flux weld it anyway. It looks like he has good resources. Just get a regulator and a tank of 75/25 and call it a day. Maybe his welder won't do gas but if thats the case I also question the penatraion of his welds. It looks damn good fro flux welds though. Neat project thoug...

Re: GODZIRRA! 90 Legacy Wagon Project.
So it's official. The motor and the trans are one unit. I just need to finish up the starter mounting, and turn some dowels for the dowel holes to finish it off. Soon it's gonna find it's way over to he car to start fianlly laying out the frame rails and engine mounts/crossmember/trans mount. :) &qu...

So I got all the trans holes drilled and tapped in the plate, I also got it all cut out to size and sorta cleaned up. Next will be the motor holes and the hole for the starter. Then the two should be together. YAY! http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n34/toddfink/offroad%20leg/adapterplate001.jpg htt...

3/4 Plate. It's an 80 amp Thermal dynamics cutmaster 100. Works great! When I cut some more of the plate this week I'll take pics of how nice of a cut it makes. Makes a torch cut look retarded.

Visually there is nothing changed really. I don't have tons of time so this goes in spurts. I have made some c...

Well, progress has been slow but. Body and frame become 1. I got two rear mounts made and bolted on. The car needs to go up a bit further... The r200 is also an option but for the price difference and avaliablilty the 8.8 iRS unit is the way to go. I will not really be using the unitbody on the car at all. In fact most fo the front is coming off in front of the firewall. I will build a chassis and then basically bolt whats left of the le...

I have not really seem much where guy running 31-33's have broken diffs. They usually break axels and stubs. I have fixes for some of that. Changing from a subie diff to another independant diff won't really require any chassis changes so for price I was gonna try the subie diffs and see what they c...
