Re: Troubleshooting Stock ej22T injector (or injectors)
I don't think I have any. We're in the process of moving and I wanted to clean/move the garage this weekend. So if I happen to run across any I'll let you know.

Re: Massive amounts of slop in shifter
So the shifter arm and everything is the same between the AWD & FWD. It's just where it mounts to the transmission is different because the AWD transmission has a rear extension housing that is longer. Yes, replace the bushings you mention. If you want, you can replace the shifter stay bushings ...

Re: Massive amounts of slop in shifter
The main difference in the AWD and FWD shifter is how the front part of the shifter stay mounts. These two blow-ups will show the difference. https://main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/1990-1994_Legacy_FWD_Gear_Shift_System_Blowup.jpg https://main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_m...

Re: Fender Braces for Information
That end point on the stock brace where it's flat is where the mounting bolts go so I don't see that as a point of flexing when the brace is attached to the car. I think you're going have both tension and compression loading scenarios. However, if the primary loading scenario on the brace is in tens...

Re: Want to buy: Stock ej22T injector (or injectors)
Welcome to the BBS. My recommendation would be to reset the ECU/clear the codes and then check the codes again to see what codes come back. Typically you work to address the lower code first. Please take a look at the instructions on my site for clearing the codes: https://www.surrealmirage.com/suba...

Re: Fender Braces for Information
Larry, Just some thoughts in general regarding these braces... I don't specifically know the answer to this, but a question I have is....are the stock fender braces there to provide rigidity in compression, tension, or both. If you look at the stock brace, it's a stamped piece of sheet metal which p...

Hi Josh, Hello Mr. Sidewards I don't want to enlarge openings, but if that's the reality of the manufacturing process, my fancy close tolerance holes shot me in the foot And what is the little red dot, next to my original post please ??? Hi Larry, I'm not sure the red dot you're talking about. It m...

Yeah, I've heard of it and been told that's why the windows in these cars slows down. I need to pull all the windows, clean the tracks in the regulator, regrease, and reinstall the windows.

Re: Fender Braces for Information
Hi Larry,
I ended up getting the TiC fender braces a while back. I had to drill out one of the holes slightly to get things to line up so I think you're going to have a little bit of tweaking on every car unless you want to enlarge the openings as you have seen in the stock brace.

Re: Rear windshield washer not working
As suggested, if you have a borescope or similar that would be the easiest inspection. If not, and If you're comfortable trying to remove the sprayer head that would get you access to the hose. You could try taking off the sprayer head and see if you get any fluid coming out then. If not you could b...

Re: Post head gasket frustration
This really sounds like the ECU is getting bad sensor data and causing your issues. My suggestion at this point would be to use a multi-meter and check the resistance of the wiring from every sensor back to the ECU. Out of curiosity, have you verified that the ECU is getting good voltage and is grou...

What year and body style first gen Legacy do you have and plan to swap the 93-01 Impreza suspension to?
There are some differences in ride height and damping rates. I think the wagon may be more affected. Additionally, you would need to match FWD to FWD components and AWD to AWD

Re: Post head gasket frustration
The specification for good injectors is 11-12 ohms. I don't think your injectors are the problem. Is your car AT or MT and what color is your MAF sensor? https://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/MAF_testing1.jpg https://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/F...

Re: Post head gasket frustration
Typically you troubleshoot the lowest code number first. I would suggest clearing the codes, verify the codes have been cleared before starting the car again, try starting the car again, and then check the codes to see what has come back. That will help with narrowing down what could be phantom code...

I would lean towards the MAF sensor as well. I'd also suggest checking the ECU for codes if you haven't already done that.
Let us know what you find out.

Re: WRX Front Axles Issues
Welcome first time poster
The WRX did get a wider track in 2002 for the sedan, but not the wagon. So if you can find wagon specific axles they should be the same track/width. You could also possibly look at the non-turbo models since they won't be the larger width as well.

Yup, as you found out if you use the newer eight bolt main engines you don't need to do anything with the trans.
I have thought about an EJ257 engine....but don't know if I can justify the money since we've got a lot of other expenses now.
