Here's an update to my earlier post. I used the NAPA kit, and obviously, without any sort of UV inhibitor, the lenses made it only a short period of time before they started to fade again. I was turned onto a product on another forum and gave it a shot. DCX products are infamous for having fogged ou...

The inner front cvs get a bit of play where they fit onto the gearbox, that would be a good place to look. The trouble is that they all have a bit of play and it takes experiance to decide whether they are the problem or not. If you get a piece of sticky tape and put it on a wheel you should be abl...

I had thought bad rotor... I've replaced brakes on both a Chevy Cavalier and a Toyota Highlander and that cured a shimmy before. Hmmm. I think I can rule out bad rim/tire assy as they were rebalanced and remounted. I told the guy I had a shimmy issue, he said there was no out-of-balance on the wheel...

Sounds like wheels. Could it be an axle? To diagnose it you need to figure out what speed it's at... wheel/axle revs, motor revs, speed through the air related(flapping plastic cover underneath). Does it get worse or set off if you hit a bump? Does it come and go with throttle application? If your ...

Need some help in diagnosing a shimmy.
1994 AWD 5-sp, NA. Car starts shimmying around 50 mph or so, not noticeable below those speeds. It shakes no matter what gear (3rd, 4th, 5th) or regardless of if the clutch is in or out, or if the trans is in neutral or not. Shakes while braking until you're below the 50mph threshold, too. Only seem...

Chiming in. Last night was the first night I got to drive Roo through a proper snowstorm. Half the roads around couldn't be maintained, i.e., the plows couldn't keep up with the snowfall. Night before, I did the same as 94legacyturboawd - checked fluids, topped off the wiper res, air pressure, tosse...

I have an old Remington 1100 autoloader. I learned to shoot skeet on that scattergun. One of these days I'd like to pick up a decent pistol, I'll have to look into that XD line. My cop buddies swear by their Glocks, and the one guy who is an ex-MP has an M9 that I put some rounds through. That was p...

I think this can be said of every car I've ever owned, lol93forestpearl wrote:Also, it needs about 100 more hp.
Yeah, big snows are 2-3' in 24hrs. Last "big snow" I went through ruined my Superbowl party, there was a driving ban in effect. Drank a shit-ton of gin and juice that evening.

Looks perfect... I had you in mind when I was discussing the directories. Thanks again. :) So - looks like four bolts hold on the bumper assembly to the chassis, then some smaller bolts to hold on the cover? You also looked like you removed all the foam from the bumper backing, so no issue reassembl...

Pic request: N/A bumpers
I did some searching, but can't seem to find any good pics. I know some of you gents have fantastic pics hosted offsite in directories, so I'll just come out and ask: I'm looking for some shots of N/A cars' bumpers, specifically things like the cover removed, behind the bumper, the foam inserts, how...
