Don't take this community for granted

I haven't posted on here in forever because I don't have legacy anymore. I have a stupid honda. I'm trying to fix a weird thing with the tranny right now and man... the forums suck. I used to find all the information I could hope for here and I broke interesting things back when I was racing. I've h...

Forester S axels in a 94 legacy

My friend has a VLSD in 4.11 from a forester with the axels. I know the diff will bolt up but will the axels work or do I have to get legacy or impreza axels?

D Spec model numbers and spring question

Does anybody happen to know what the model numbers are for the D Specs that fit a 94 Leggy? Does anyboy have experience with D specs and AGXs and if so are the Tokicos worth the extra cash? Also, I am looking for new springs. Any ideas? My main focus is rallycross so I want to keep stock ride height...

How involved is a turbo swap into an L?

I really want more power in my car. Racing would be more fun and so would DDing. If I found a 22T could I theoretically swap it into my car over a long weekend? Am I right in thinking that swapping the engine, subframe, and ecu is what is entailed in a Leggy L to SS swap? I thought about turboing my...

Re: Car running rich. How do I fix it?

Bit of an update. I think I figured out my "crunchy" problem. My engine mounts are shot all to hell. You can hear the headers smack the skid plate when I start the car. I am changing them next weekend. I will be changing the coolant temp sensor, o2 sensor, and spark plugs as well. Would it...

I figured there will probably be a small difference since my lines are 18 years old. I will know after oct 1 sometime.

Re: Car running rich. How do I fix it?

I'm in northern VA. The O2 sensor hasn't been changed. The air filter has either been getting changed or cleaned (finally broke down and got a K&N though I don't know if I like it) once a month because I rallycross it. I just drove it to get some food and now it is making a "crunchy" s...

Does anybody have the part number for the coolant temp sensor? I am having no luck with the parts catalog that I have.

No, there are no CELs.

Car running rich. How do I fix it?

I am pretty sure that my car is running hella rich. I is putting out a really strong exhaust smell, gets horrible gas milage, and the end of my muffler is sooty. What are my options for fixing this? I can't do anything to my computer, can I?

Ciper,
If you will take $120 I will take it off your hands. Is that shipped? If not tell me a final price and give me your email for paypal. This will bolt up to my Leggy, correct?

Re: Shifter linkage stuck.

If you want I have a complete Kartboy short shifter from an RS which includes the hardened kartboy #12 and the ujoint. Basically everything in the picture except for number 4 and 17. These parts have about 8k miles on them and have been sitting outside attached to the transmission since a 6 speed s...

Re: Shifter linkage stuck.

What are the advantages to going to that style of shifter? Does it have a shorter throw or something? I have the Kartboy rear stay (that thing is a bitch to install) and I am probably going to get the front one too since I have to pull take everything apart regardless of what I do.

Re: Shifter linkage stuck.

Yeah the U-joint. My dad told me to heat it up and melt a candle into the join because the heat will suck the wax into the join. I haven't tried MAP gas yet.

Shifter linkage stuck.

So... I bought the bushings to fix my sloppy shifter. I tried to pull off the linkage and... no go. That thing is fused on there. I tried banging, PB Blaster, heat, heat and wax, twisting, prying, and finally more banging. All to no avail. Do any of you that have done this before have any secret Jed...

I think if I did the NACA duct I would clog my filter at RXs.

Re: Intake insulation and other questions.

Taking out the accordion section of the intake tube would kill low end torque? Since I can't seem to find ABS pipe anywhere (back when I was making potato guns you could buy it anywhere) I was thinking of just wrapping the stock stuff. The heat wrap is for rallycross - I don't care about everyday so...

Ok I'll bite. What the hell is a 45 degree airbox mod?

I am doing the tb bypass this weekend.

I didn't think about space blankets.

Just found this too. I wonder if I wrapped everything in aluminum foil first if that would bring up the R value.

Intake insulation and other questions.

So I think I have decided to change the intake pipe upstream of the MAF to a piece of seamlessly bent ABS. I am assuming that getting rid of any place to cause turbulence will give me something. I am going to insulate it somehow as well. I have ideas ranging from a radiant wrap option (more legit-is...

Re: Throttle Body Spacer?

I am going to do the coolant bypass this weekend. There is enough heat in the engine bay at races I definitely don't need hot coolant running through my TB. I might look into the mani spacers if I decide to do a PnP in the future. I'm not going to pull that thing off just for the spacers though.

So...I think this is going to be happening. I have been wanting to do a EG33 swap but since that will cost me >$3K since I will at least have to buy an SVX and my school continues to rape me hard on tuition (not even as much as a kiss first) not to mention that engine doesn't want to go in there any...

Throttle Body Spacer?

Could I just take a piece of phenolic sheet, trace a tb gasket onto it, cut it out and bolt it up to my car? Would it help with heat transfer. Would there be slack in my throttle cable (I haven't ever really paid attention to the tb that much)? I can buy sheets of the stuff for cheap so if it will h...
