A while ago now....I was able to drive my 92 5spd with one front CV totally sheared. If I threw too much throttle I could feel the diff's do whatever they were doing at 200+K. But the car moved around without drama.

Careful with the OEM takeoff discs, they usually suck. You're better off with the Avids unless your spending some good cash on a hydraulic brake.

I've also been there, check out your wheel bearing too. A hit like that can damage the bearing pretty easily, and if you replace it now you'll only have to tear the front end apart once.

So the Tribeca is the most attractive product from Subaru for 08? There has always been resistance to the new models from Suby the past few years, but they kinda grow on you. I don't see this happening with some of the 08 stuff.

Between that and the 08 Impreza's you'd think that Subaru is owned by Toyota.......Oh wait. I would rather see them make some waves than just another econo-blob. Hmmm, which emoticon to use....Perfect :smt017

..... Guess that helps on those V8 conversions, too. Mallet http://www.mallettcars.com/solstice-conversion.htm will give ya an LS2 and some other goodies for 5 bucks under 20K with a warranty. That of course does not include the cost of your Solstice. That's more Cobra than anything Ford's slatherd...

I'm in Wichita Falls right know, and I too have a growing dislike for TX. And this is the "Good" base as far as USAF pilot training. Earlier today I was driving to do some mountain biking and had to grab this picture as it is as cliche TX as it gets. I didn't quite get everything in the pi...

I was back in good ol' Ft Fun last week for a wedding reception (mine). On our way out of town to shack up in a Mtn. cabin, we stopped at the NB brewery. While enjoying our free samples we started BS'ing with the employees. As we were leaving they offered us a Growler of anything and two glasses as ...

It's a White Industries ENO hub. The axle on the hub is off set to allow a bit of movement to allow chain tension adjustment on a bike with vertical dropouts. I highly recommend any of WI's Single Speed parts, especially for bikes with "shifting problems."

I've got to disagree with BAC regarding some of his cable advice. Gore cables were over priced and not much of an advantage in 1996, that's just an opinion though. Using derail housing as brake housing on the other hand is flat out wrong. Derail housing is not even kind of designed to take the force...

Some old school cool right there. If your shifting problem is really at the shifter, take the plastic off the bottom of the shifter and lube up the "Pawls" inside. On older Rapidfire shifters the grease gets old and cakes up and keeps the ratcheting mechanism from working.

I love that episode, it's like Stone/Parker wrote an episode about my childhood. I grew up in a Burb of Denver where there were quite a few Mormon families, and as a result the majority of my friends were Mormon. My parents were divorced and we only went church for weddings and funerals, so I was ri...
