Re: EJ22E Heads on EJ22T block
I've literally thrown away like four or five sets of these heads in the trash because no one ever wanted them. Held on to them for years until I finally gave up on them.

All parts sold
I'm selling my 93 SS. If you want to buy it check out the car lot. I was planning on installing a Robtune soon, but now that I am selling the car I am selling all the parts I had. I have everything you would need for the Robtune including the 2to4 adapter. I have a plug and play adapter made by a me...

1993 SS Sedan Black - SOLD
SOLD!!!!! It has come time to sell my beloved 1993 SS. I never thought that I would sell it. I've had plans to completely restore it but I have a WRX and two Outback XTs at the moment and the SS is just gonna sit there and I want it to go to a good home. It has been my wife's DD since I joined this...

Rob is still making them. Contact him if you can't find one here. http://www.robtune.com
I have a 4to2 converter that I bought from Rob for $90 but I'm not using it if you want a deal.

Guys in the UK will give you about $700-800 for these. I speak from personal experience. Shipping them can be a nightmare though.

Re: Vehicle barely runs in need of help!!!!!!!!!
Is this an NA Legacy that was converted to turbo, or is it a Turbo Legacy SS? There are two types of MAFs. There is one for USDM NA cars (Green Jecs MAF - used for Robtunes and EJ20Gs), and the aluminum housing MAFs for Turbo Legacies. They aren't interchangeable without some type of engine manageme...

Re: EJ22T Current Value
Prices can vary of course. But I've sold a few split blocks. I sold one about a year ago. I got $700 for the case halves and I had to ship it to the UK. I bought the complete long block for $300 from a local guy. Buyers can be hard to find these days. You're best bet to sell is to post on NASIOC of ...

Re: Rough Idle when AC is on
Well, hydrocarbon block test came back negative. So maybe I have a pinhole leak somewhere in the coolant system. There is no evidence of a leak anywhere. Compression test next. So far so good though.

Subie Savers now makes rear panels for 1st Gens!!!!
Today I found out Subie Savers now makes rear quarter panel replacements for 1st gens!!! Only $85/each. Pretty cool. I need to replace the driver's side on my SS. A little bubble of rust has formed and I want to get it fixed before I restore the rest of the body. Website: https://www.subiesavers.com...

Re: Rough Idle when AC is on
I'll have to double check if the idle goes up or not. I think it feels like it drops a little bit. I did clean the IACV not too long ago and it didn't feel like it was sticking at all. The car is still eating coolant so I am going to do a block test, compression/leakdown soon and do the headgaskets ...

WTB Dash Harness - 93 SS
I'm thinking about doing a WRX swap and wiring harness merge. If you have a complete 93-94 SS Turbo Legacy dash harness (everything needed for an iWire wiring harness merge) let me know. I could send him the one in my SS, but I would like to avoid pulling it since my wife is using the car as her dai...

Rough Idle when AC is on
My wife's SS is idling rough when the AC is on. It's fine when driving but kinda put-puts a bit and the engine seems to shake a bit when at a stop. I haven't looked into it a lot yet but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. Plugs are less than 30k old. I'm also suspecting a small head gasket lea...

Re: EJ20G Swap - What years are compatible?
Yeah, I don't like capping coolant ports. If I did I would tap the port and JB Weld a bolt in there. I have a 91 oil cooler/warmer in my parts bin but I don't feel like adding any complexity to the SS. I also have a used 22T pump in there but I haven't dug it out to compare to a WRX pump so thanks f...

Re: EJ20G Swap - What years are compatible?
Would there be any visible coolant loss from that?
When I replaced the HGs the first time the timing kit came with an NA water pump even though I had ordered the 22T kit (from Gates, not Subaru), so I reused the pump.
Edit: do you think a WRX water pump will work as an equivalent pump?

Re: EJ20G Swap - What years are compatible?
Ok, that's what I suspected. Thanks Mike! I'm suspecting early HG failure because although there are no visible coolant leaks the car was down over a gallon of coolant yesterday. My wife called and said the car had overheated. I filled it back up and it is running just fine, but the coolant has to g...

EJ20G Swap - What years are compatible?
I have been thinking about getting a complete JDM EJ20G engine for my 93 SS. I know the 93-94 EJ20G should swap right in, but what about later EJ20Gs? I see 97-98 JDM EJ20Gs for example. I think my HGs might be slowly failing again on my SS and if I have to pull the engine again I was thinking about...

Re: Hello! New here with some questions!
I built basically the same hybrid setup you are wanting to do. You can check out my build thread on NASIOC if you are interested: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2696523 I used the Wisecos and chamber matched the 205 heads. I used an OEM 25D MLS head gasket. I have all the part num...

Re: Ej22t rebuild. Intake valves being held open?
Just get an imgur account. Easy to post pictures that way. I like to use OEM head gaskets. I'm weary of most aftermarket HGs like Felpro from reports of them failing. It could be due to bad installation, not resurfacing the heads properly, etc. If your aftermarket HGs don't line up with your old HGs...

Re: Ej22T noob!! Need help!
I have a set of 22T pistons and rods if you want them. I have no use for them. Apparently there are no more 22T piston rings available so you would need to get a set made for them. The pistons I have include the rings but I don't think you would want to reuse them. I've seen guys on here use new sto...

Re: EJ22T Rebuild.
The ticking probably isn't rod knock. The lifters are pretty noisy. You can bleed them but that doesn't work very well in my experience. I thought that the ticking lifters were rod knock when I rebuilt my 22T and I wasn't familiar with it. I replaced some of the HLAs and the ticking subsided. It alw...
