RIP Aerotech
I just learned that Aerotech, longtime member on this board (who built a bad ass RS-RA many years ago now, ~2008) past away recently. Many who were around at the time would certainly remember his passion for all things automotive. Thought I'd pass it along to this community. RIP Jerry :( -Chad Copie...

Re: EJ20G ECU with IAC issues
OK - FIXED!!
After trouble shooting remotely with Rob, we determined the ECU must be hosed. I sent it back to Rob, and he confirmed (ECU is bad.. in a weird way, but bad nonetheless).
I have a new 'chipped' ECU in the car now and all is well
Hopefully I can dyno it soon too.

Re: EJ20G ECU with IAC issues
That's cool. I am going to try to "unchip" the ECU per Rob's input and see if the tune has something to do with this (or at least eliminate some variables). I'll get there! :D *on a side note, I will have a new (or another) car starting tomorrow... let's just say I'm still in the Legacy fa...

Re: Rob's 4to2 Igntion Converter
Well, I moved the converter ground to F47 #14. I had the F47 plug out so why not. I also swapped the F47 #1 & #2 (IAC open & closed). Now you would think that this would either fix my issues or make them worse (and more than likely the later). I wouldn't say it's better - but it did idle a h...

Re: Rob's 4to2 Igntion Converter
Hey Josh, I only thought of the wiring as I've found mention from a couple others about having to swap the "close" and "open" leads for the IAC (something about different wiring, not different IAC's, between years...) Haven't gotten to this though as it seems less than likely. An...

Re: Rob's 4to2 Igntion Converter
damn, well that kills that theory... maybe. Yours is a '90 right? I think there were a few different IAC's used throughout the years. The EJ20 could play nicer with earlier IAC's (?)m than with my '93. I did use different sources for +12v and GND. But still a switched +12v, and nearby ground. I don'...

EJ20G ECU with IAC issues
Cool. My Rob chipped ECU is working... except for the IAC control. Am I the only one to install the Rob chipped ECU and converter to a EJ22T longblock (with stock heads/sensors)? It seems like most reports are from EJ22T/DOHC combo's. Any other issues out there with the IAC control? Basically it act...

Re: Rob's 4to2 Igntion Converter
Per Rob, the connector wiring is either G-Y-G-Y or Y-G-Y-G (alternating) I'm not under the dash right now (at work) so I'm not sure which it is, but alternating is correct following the 2 original wires in positions 9 & 10. yea-haw, I'll be up and running this weekend! Then off to the drag strip...

Re: Rob's 4to2 Igntion Converter
Thanks, So it is all clear except for the 2 ADDED wires to the connector... does it matter which goes in F47 7 & 8. That is, does the "new" green go in location 7 or in 8?? and then the "new" yellow goes in the other. it seems as though it maters or both would be the same col...

Re: Anybody use shims/washers with their Delta Cam Regrinds?
I installed the 220 cams in my 22T as well and did not use any shims. Works well as is, minus low idle vacuum and associated shakes... which my soon to be installed, higher idle, Rob chip should help with.
Cams are cool - more top end for sure, even with the "crappy" 22T heads

I'll have dyno results on a 16G(VF12)/550/awic/3"TBE/cams/etc... Rob-tune setup soon as well. I have all my parts and just need to install everything, which will be easy (maybe next week). I do need some guidance on the converter inputs/outputs... which wires go where?!? haha I'll just email Rob.

My Vacuum at ilde was ~14inHG here at 5500' ASL (perfectly normal). Now with delta cams it runs 10-11inHG at idle (a bit low).

Re: Rob's 4to2 Igntion Converter
Sweetness!
I'll buy a ECU/converter when you have the parts in-house. Do you have a spec sheet for the ECU's so we can detail engine builds (turbo/injectors), and also pick rev limits, launch control settings, etc...?

Re: 440cc fuel injectors
Putting higher flow injectors in a otherwise stock, or even somewhat modified EJ22 (i.e. your car) will not give you any power. In fact it will most likely cause your motor to run horribly (very rich). Larger injectors can ALLOW for more power, but do they do not GIVE power unless the motor is starv...

Yeah!
Was waiting for the EJ22T ECU tune, but if the ignition modification is "easy" I could jump on the EJ20G ECU.
(EJ22T ECU would still be prefered )

Re: making the 2.2 heads flow some air
check my results with delta cams on my EJ22T. I know it's different than the NA 2.2l but I have more top end with cams (and a P&P header with high flow crosspipe). It has a poer curve closer to the better flowing ej20g's or the like (doesn't fall on it's face so hard) search my user name and Del...
