EJ22t long block.
Ive got a stock 22t out of a 94 SS, complete longblock. Got a bad exhaust valve in cylinder four, i have the intake manifold, but the harness is different. I beleive its set up for a bg legacy. Its not attached currently. I would prefer local pickup but if someone wants to pay shipping i might be wi...

Re: Misfire and stuttering under load.
I would double check the knock sensor, i had very similar symptoms with mine, and i too had replaced it once before. In my case the wire to the connector for the knock sensor was trash, it had been pinched at some point and the insulation had come off the signal wire and the wire itself was frayed, ...

Re: Ej22t/v6207
Yeah, but the timing belt is off too. Its like they started taking it apart and lost motivation, or they found something that made them give up. Or they realized they didn't know what they were doing. Is the ej207 an interfierance motor? One of the cam gears (sprocket) sounds like it has issues when...

Re: Ej22t/v6207
Did you know the ver 6 STI has forged pistons? It is a great motor, great flowing heads and solid bottom end. I think you could save some money initially and run that in the car, while building up a 22t at your own pace. The 207 i got apparently had oil in the coolant according to the PO, i havent h...

Re: Ej22t/v6207
Well this is definately going to be a my DD so ill keep the ABS as im no racecar driver and the lack of bumper bar to fit my fmic would make a sad and expensive sandwich for whoever i hit. Im still thinking of build a drift style homemade bar so i have some sort of protection. Josh where did you get...

Re: Ej22t/v6207
Well, i am going to st the very minimum refresh the 22t block, as i know it burned oil, if i remember correct it had decent compression. My other 22t is in the car currently with all new seals and its got an ungodly knock. So im going to use the one out of the car for the build. Anyone know where i ...

Re: Ej22t/v6207
Ok cool, thanks for the info. Im going to be on the lookout for a wrx ecu and full harness. I contacted Iwire and they are willing to help me out, but its going to cost a fair chunk of change. If i can find diagrams and a get a good idea as to what needs to be done ill tackle that one myself, but ho...

Hello all, ive got a couple of stock ej22ts, and i just purchased a jdm v6 ej207, and i want to build a 22t block and match the heads for the 207, and slap it all in my 94 legacy SS, but would love the ability to swap into another chassis later on. Re: Fmic Coolant reservoir
You talking about the plastic coolant expansion tank? I used a skinny glass bottle, drilled a hole in the cap and secured it with a metal tie. It worked well. No pics unfortunately. Everything on these cars is so DIY. Haha Yeah, relocting the battery isnt the issue as i flipped the cooler so the pi...

I think I'm going to bag that for another later subie. You're build has motivated me a little haha, I'm just going to fix the stock heads and maybe buy another project subie. Thanks for all the help and fast responses

Re: Ej22t head issues.
EJ205 heads are going to be too big of a project I think. You would need to get a full WRX wiring harness and merge the WRX ECU into your factory harness. The EJ205 heads are not compatible with the earlier ECUs. But would that give me tunability? I've been wanting that since I've owned the car I'v...

Sorry, i am new to this forum, i did as much searching as i could handle. (hours) and i still am not confident about this topic, i have a 94ss with the stock ej22t in it.
