As long as you have everything taken apart, you should replace both sides. Along with the head gaskets, the job shouldn't be done without replacing the following: Exhaust Gaskets Intake Manifold Gaskets You should also change the water pump and gasket, thermostat and gasket, and timing belt. This wo...

Andrew (petridish38) can tell you that my car does indeed run extremely well for its age and mileage. And what's funny is I don't think I do anything really special, I just maintain it like it calls for. Runs better than my car did at (whats it at? 150,000?) Probably has a lot to do with the previo...

2000 and up model year DeVilles have LEDs in the tails. Not sure if 5 years is enough time for them to start popping up in junkyards though. :?

What about a Cadillac in the JY with LED tails? Never seen one internally, so im not sure how easy it would be to get all those LEDs out... You also might even be able to use some of the wiring inside to make it work on the Legacy :?

NO :( Its supposed to be 78 degrees today... No complaint from me there!

But we did get a few days off for the hurricanes here in FL :) .... But, in college, that ended up screwing me over in the long run.

Have fun!

On any setting but "MAX A/C" it pulls it in from the outside right under the windshield wipers... You will see the grid if you look... On "MAX A/C" it pulls the air from behind the glove box. The glove box can be removed with two bolts allowing access to the "MAX A/C" i...

Or you could use vrg3's scan tool if you possess the resources. My friend bought her 91 and the guy that sold it to her said that he put a beefier than stock alternator in there, and every once in a while her dash lights will come on and stay on. An irregular voltage could be causing the lights to c...

They definitely have a different design. The OEM one looks much beefier and looks to have a larger opening with less restriction, among other things.

I would definitely go with OEM.

I know you don't think it's the gauge or sender, but maybe you should try using my scantool as a quick sanity check. The ECU uses its own sender. Well, I actually wanted to do that before I said for sure, but I didn't think the 96 OBDII worked with your scantool. Does it? Professor, I probably shou...

Heat seems to blow adequately warm. I tried to get the antifreeze mixture as close to 50/50 as possible. It just worries me every time I see the guage quickly move toward C. I know how aluminum likes to warp. I don't think I put the thermostat in wrong either.... its not in there backward, and I put...

As far as I know, the pump and radiator are stock and original with 72,000 miles on them. Maybe it is a common thing with 96's or something even though the engines are basically the same (she has the EJ22). I was really expecting to find the thermostat stuck open when I took it out. The car had all ...

I just replaced the thermostat and gasket in my girlfriend's 96 because it was showing signs of a thermostat stuck open (running cold, dropping near C when revved, etc....) Well, after replacing the thermostat and gasket and burping the system, ther probl...

I think the carbon builds up inside the combustion chamber since the back of my valves looked clean, but when I took the heads off, I could see all the carbon. Below are some pics of my head and block. http://www.thawa.net/petridish/legacy/head.jpg http://www.thawa.net/petridish/legacy/cleanblock.jp...
