That really is a good looking car. I wonder if its ironwood. I've worked on some truck beds that were decked with it and it will dull drill bits.

Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
We should talk. I could beef up a crossmember. Or make one similar to whats commercially available. John is as interesting guy. Very opinionated. I've had some (long) interesting conversations with him, mostly about Ford, Merkur, and Cosworth stuff. But also about him hanging up his hat on building ...

Who are you gonna have tune her?
Any idea what that bracket in the trans is for?
Let me know if you need any welding/fabrication done on that exhaust. Or anything else, really.

Re: Misfire and stuttering under load.
I've been experiencing a similar issue with bucking/missing but only under positive manifold pressure. I figured it was merely the original knock sensor, so I picked one up from RockAuto, but it didn't solve the issue. So I checked the plugs and it must have been a while since I last replaced them b...

I understand about having to dodge the weather. I can get downright frustrating.
I've wondered about using a steering quickener, myself. Would you mount it at the rack?
Too bad about JV, hope he's not losing his edge. He was at least very knowledgeable about suspension at one time.

Good hear from someone who's actually done it.Alphius wrote:I ran 19psi on stock 22e pistons with no problem. Based on my own inspection, they're thicker and heavier than EJ205 pistons, so I'd expect them to hold up to the power with a good tune.

Lots of work ahead. A lightweight flywheel is a good thing.
Re the alignment: have you considered adjustable upper mounts? Strange that the JVABs are so out. Have you consulted John about it? His workmanship is usually very good.

Looking good! Those shiny parts sure are purdy. Did you have to file the rings at all?

^+1. A couple of mandrel bends from Columbia River Mandrel, or other online retailer, are pretty cheap. A guy can do a full system with just a couple of U-bends.
