The crank is stock, but was balanced like all the pistons and rods.. hehe rsstiBoy : In Quebec, with the bad weather and snow/calcium/etc... aluminium gets all eaten and looks pretty damn bad. The guys who overbored the block also cleaned it, and i painted the block to "seal" the aluminium...

Yup, I received all my stuff, and started the rebuilt this week-end. I waited till being far enought to give you a little update :) So this his how it goes.. you're lucky the head pins are the only ones you can order from subaru

well i managed to recover 2 pins from a spare shortblock i have.. but without that.. i would have been stuck there.. :\

I removed them to avoid any problem / incident during the Overboring process .. and one of them was in the oil pan when i dismanteled (dismantled?) the engine. I don't want the machinery to hit and broke them. They simply screw in place with some fine threading. They seats on a little steel washer. ...

on the 'left' beam.. you can see one bolted on the left cylinder, and one unbolted on the right one.

You know those little oil sprinklers under the pistons... Yesterday i tried to find them.. but couldn't .. so i thought "well, i'll ask the price for new ones at my dealer and put new ones in" ... the parts clerk looked in his computer .. nothing .. micro-film.. nothing ... shop manual... ...

You are replacing it with the same model, or replacing it with another model of turbo ?

that will affect the "time of swap" a lot.

All USDM Turbo legacy had the IHI VF11 as far as i know
