radiator
I had that problem too... It was split on the passanger side at the top... I took care of that with some marine type JB Weld! I am notorious for "Ghetto Rigging" my car and this is just another case. I understand the risk involved with having such a repair. It could start to leak again any...

removal of valve solenoid
The way I removed the solenoid was, I used a socket wrench with an extension long enough so that i could get in from the back of the intake manifold. Then, you just have to get your fingers in there and get it out and get the new one in. That was the reason that my check engine light was on. I repla...

Fans
On my car, both fans have been replaced...One is from auto zone and is designed to fit on any car...The other one is from a subaru GL from back in the 80's. When i turn the key to ACC and ON, the driver's side fan turns on and stays on the whole time. The way i have it set up now, the passenger side...

I think he just cut the mass airflow sensor and a little bit of the tubing after it and directly connected it to the throttle body.... it isnt a good picture... if he brings it out to the meeting on thursday, i will try to take some better pics with my camera...he might not bring it though since it ...

Bearings
If the pads and rotors are all ok....i'm pretty sure it is your bearings. when mine were making noise, there was a sweet spot on the brake pedal where it would make the noise the loudest and most defined usually when the pedal is pressed lightly or medium. It also had a pattern that was consistant w...

Speakers
I got some speakers from best buy...some pioneer 3-ways and best buy installed them (it was free installation for speakers $99 and over) so i said why the heck not!? All 4 speakers are 6.5 inches and they did need a spacer for the front... It was $12 for the spacers and i barely had enough cash to p...

Bearings
I am 99.9% sure that it is your wheel bearings. I had the same "creaking" problem, and only after replacing the bearings did it stop. This is actually a harder job than it needs to be....to replace them, you have to take off the CV joints, ball joints, tie rod ends, brake caliper, brake ro...

Speedo Cable
Mine wobbles at 20-30 too....guess its just a thing with these cars.....doesn't bother me and i still love the car! I've had to replace the one that connects to the tranny...there are two different cables that connect together....not too hard to replace....u shouldn't have to remove the instrument p...

CV joints
I've done my CV joints a little over a year ago and now they are starting to get really bad now...I had mine rebuilt with all new parts, but i hear that Legacies eat them up. But they have a lifetime warranty on them! I didn't remove anything but the axel nut when i took mine out... they tend to be ...

Flowmaster
I have a flowmaster 40 series delta flow on my legacy. I still have my catalytic converter and it doesn't sound that bad. All the people that have heard it have said that it sounds nice. It only cost me $100 for the muffler and installation, but the actual price of the muffler itself, i don't know. ...

Oil Leak
I also had an oil leak on my 90 Legacy. it turned out that it was my front oil seal which keeps the oil from getting past the oil pump. If it is the valve covers, then you should be able to see the oil on the valve covers. If you don't see any oil then it may be the front oil seal. If it is, you mig...

I'm trying to diagnose a slight hesitation at low RPMs in my car and i am going to try to replace the spark plugs to see if that will help. Any suggestions on what brand or type i should use...? I'm just looking for some cheap efficient spark plugs... no performance plugs or anything fancy...i just ...

knock sensor
I'm not sure if my knock sensor is bad! i would assume not, because my check engine light is not on and I have the white connector. It seems like it "misses" at RPM's below 2,000......but above 2,000 it runs and accelerates fine. I think its getting worse too, because when i start out in f...

huh?
what is this replacing the knock sensor even if its not damaged? could this be why i'm having some hesitation below 2,000 RPM? is it a recall? more information on this would be helpful as this is all new to me!
