Re: Oh boy, Rod knock already?

This new motor only have 140 miles on it. Not 140k. But 140. The previous motor when we bought the car had 0 compression on all cylinders. And get this. It had NO compression because all the intake valves were stuck open. Whatever this is. Is probably the cause of the last motor going. It would make...

Re: Oh boy, Rod knock already?

Was a brand new OEM filter. Went in with the motor. And the old motors intake valves locked up. This would explain it. 2 different filters. Same issue per say. I pulled the pump. No goo on it. However the strainer had shiny crystals on it. Which I did not get a pic of. Not saying its sugar for sure....

Re: Oh boy, Rod knock already?

So gents. Here is what I found today. Keep in mind I installed a BRAND new fuel filter when this motor was put in. This is in all of the heads. Hard as a rock. Have to use a screw driver to break it off. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz223/Baddog909/20130109_123343.jpg And traces of it in the f...

Re: Oh boy, Rod knock already?

Will do. Been meaning to finish the tear down. Just need to remove the intake manifold and split the block.

Will be split by Wednesday for sure. I am curious to what I find as well.

Re: Oh boy, Rod knock already?

Update: Just went outside to do a little bit of testing. I confirmed again it goes away when the motor is revved. The valve tick noise is still there at all revs (of course). I pulled each plug wire off one at a time. The knock sound went away when I did this. Regardless of which cylinder I pulled t...

Oh boy, Rod knock already?

I just had a 93 Ej22t rebuilt using OEM bearings and all were in spec. I went to show a buddy of mine the car and got home and heard a loud knocking noise. It DOES NOT increase with revs however. It actually goes away with revs. 150 miles on the motor and not pushed past 3500rpm's yet. I know there ...

Re: ABS Sensor Issues

I have not yet. I was going to pull some first gen ABS Sensors from the junkyard. Hopefully find one that isn't super glued in and try that. I will try and see if the pump continues to run

WTS: OBX "R" Axle Back (Portland, Oregon)

I got an axle back when I bought the car. Honestly don't know much about it. It's 3" Dual Tip's and a 3" inlet.

Re: ABS Sensor Issues

ABS light comes on and the pedal at a dead stop acts like ABS is engaging and the brake pedal goes nuts.

Is there a difference in OHM's or anything between the sensors causing the ABS pump to get a wrong reading from the 98 Legacy ABS sensors?

Re: Group N Mounts

I bought the Megan racing mount set for my girlfriends 92 legacy. I have Subaru "Group N" in my car right now. Comparing them they were the same stiffness. I would buy the Megan Racing kit and save some money. They even have Subaru part numbers on them. They just have their sticker on them...

I will do an SS line like some of you did. Was there a Write-up somewhere? I saw a parts list.

ABS Sensor Issues

Not to thread jack. I have an ABS issue. I used a 98 ABS sensor (since it was on the hub) on the rear passenger side of the 93 SS. The ABS is going crazy.

I am experiencing the same issue. I was going to replace the coolant temp sensor and clean out the IACV.

Let me know what you come up with.

Clutch bleeding procedure

I checked the sticky and most google searches came up with WRX's. I am using the factory setup still as far as the master and slave go. So I was wondering the proper procedure on how to bleed it. I have tried using the bleeder screw and pushing down on the clutch after cracking the bleeder open. The...

Call it like i see it. Dont take it personal. It just happens all too often with people. Dont message me if youre not serious. You never mentioned this was a running car. You made it sound like it was a part out.
