Fingers crossed. I'm not sure what the bolt hole is for that's to the right of where the control arm mounts, but I'll look at some parts diagrams tomorrow to figure it out. I should have the tranny all bolted up tomorrow if all goes as planned... Should Hahahaha

Also my friend has a set of 08 Outback XT front brakes, calipers & rotors. Gonna pick those up to freshen things up.

As for the power braking conundrum. Chek out that link I posted above to that chasebays brake booster eliminator, the way they are explaining it there should still be some pretty good braking control when using their setup. I've driven lots of cars without power brakes, definitely not something I'd want to be driving everyday or with my family all loaded up in there but since this car isn't for either I think it would be ok...

They explain their setup well. When I went to the single stage booster, I kept the stock SS 17/16" master cylinder, and I've always been unhappy with brake pedal feel since. It's likely my brake pad choice (akebono fronts that work like crap till warm, then GRIP!) is a contributing factor. Maybe I should have gone with a 1" MC instead.

Anyways, don't want to mess up your thread with too many tangents. Hopefully others reading can throw in their opinions and experiences.

All good things to know, I am going to think about it for a while and do some more research on options. Mainly I want to get rid of that horrendous huge booster, thats really my only want for doing this.

Also, lets be real nobody reads this thread but me and you.

Awesome, thanks for looking!

I am about to head into garage to get the old crossmember out, and hopefully at least get the tranny lined up and ready to bolt in. I don't have a transmission jack, but my neighbor has one and said I can use it when he gets home from work tonight.

Non-turbo crossmember is out! It was easy aside from the bolt that connects the control arm to crossmember. Had to take out the whole thing with control arm still attached. Just ran out for some wobble impact sockets.

Picked up manual driveshaft today, installing tomorrow!

Also grabbed a few more parts off of my buddies parts car. Fender molding, without side marker holes. Looks like it doesn't quite line up with the door molding, going to tweak it some. Also picked up some fender liners, cleaned them up today and sprayed with some fresh black rubberized coating.

Got my driveshaft all bolted up today! I could use some new bushings for the center bracket piece, but otherwise its good!

As mentioned in previous post, I got some pre-facelift fender molding that doesn't have a side marker. Looks like the fenders must be slightly different where the molding goes because it doesn't quite line up to the door molding:

So what I did was cut off the clips on the back of the molding & taped it up to the fender where it should be, marked the holes on the back of the molding and JB welded some bolts into place. Worked perfectly and now the molding looks great!

I guess I've never really posted my plans for the interior now that you mention it. I'm keeping it very simple, recaro front seats, some custom upholstered pieces in black alcantara and that's about it honestly.

I find your aversion to the brake booster a bit odd, never seen someone say 'hey, look at that big ugly brake booster, what a mess' before! Sand it, paint it, ignore it I say, subies suck with no power brakes, believe me, I've done more than my fair share of flat tows... One of the best upgrade I've done btw, is upgrade to a larger BH Twin turbo booster, really made my brakes quite effective!

That would be pretty cool. I originally didn't plan on putting it on there, but now thats its gone I am questioning that, of course.

I got my wheel cover through Reuben. Took about a year lol. Real nice guy, but he must be super busy.

Yeah they are a little rough. There is also a tear in the driver bolster. The master plan is to get some nice older recaro seats eventually. Are your seats mint?

I highly recommend the single diaphragm brake booster. You do not want to go with unboosted/unassisted brakes. I'm being a bit picky, but there is not "dual stage" boosters. There is only single and tandem diaphragm boosters. The dual diaphragms just act as more surface area.

The added brake assist creates this "dual" effort where as the pedal is easily depressed and then gets more firm. The single diaphragm booster should have been installed in all the cars as it provides much more linear brake pedal feel/response without requiring you to stomp on the brakes like you are driving a 1974 Chevy Nova without power brakes (ask me how I know ;) )

they are-car had 150k-1st gen seats so much better then 2nd gen
