help!!

Post by import_freak »

ok so its been a long time since ive been on here. ever since i sold the subby ive regretted that decision so much. hopefully some of you remember me. anyways im going to get a 93 sport sedan for $200 :D bucks. the catch, the trannies (it's an auto) going out. so if anyone knows where i can get a used one or a rebuild kit let me know. i cant wait to get this thing on the road and start wasting all those hondas  again. thanks for all the help in advance.

Uhh.. good luck? You're picking this thing up for $200, which is an awesome price, lemme tell you. (it's what I paid for mine, too!) Why not just do a 5sp swap? You're not into this for much, and the tuning potential in an SS, combined with the longevity (debateable) of a 5sp, you're not going to want an AT for much longer anyhow. See what you can do about coming up with the money for it.. It's probably the better long-term choice, IMO. Check the Library, or search here --Josh(Legacy777) has a writeup on the 5sp/AWD swap, which has a parts list, including part numbers, and estimated prices.

hmmmmm, i'll have to check into that and weigh the price differences. what i really want to do is drop a dog box in it but thats way out of the picture for now. i guess i hadnt really thought about dropping a manual in it yet.

You could probably do the 5mt swap for about as much as you'll pay for a new(used from another party) turbo 4eat or to have it rebuilt. Now if you're going to rebuild it yourself then it would probably be cheaper then the swap but the benefits of the swap, out way that IMO.

It's not tough to rebuild a 5mt, just keep track of the interlock pins because they are small and get lost easily. Also remember where they go. Other than that, its pretty simple although it can be like a jigsaw puzzle.

Personally, I'd do whatever was the simplest approach depending on how much time and money you have. It's not a professional opinion but I like my auto and I don't miss shifting constantly. If you are going to swap it and have all the facilities and desire go for it.

in the top right hand corner of the screen after you log in and enter your file will be a scroll menu thing. click on it and select add new photos, then you select the photos from your computer and click upload, then they should appear in your album after the upload is finished.

Got the tranny out of the legacy today. My suspicions were correct, the tranny is fine. On the other hand the front diff has three sheared off gears. Now i just wait till the new one comes.
