I've been running the A/C the past week or so...killed my gas mileage :(

It's back down to ONLY mid 80's as highs so now I can run the 480 air.

I took my ac compressor and lines out may to junish, and i haven't regretted it once. Not even when it was 110. Not worth the $$ to get it fixed.

Yours broke too? Or did you just rip it out 'cause you wanted to go faster.

It's a PITA to convert it and get it working again. Not worth it. The Mazda, the work vans, and any future Lotus Elise or Maserati Khamsin have it.

It's actually pretty easy to convert it....it's probably cheaper to buy the vacuum pump & gauge set and do the work yourself then have a shop do it.

I'll be pulling the engine a few more times and don't want to be bothered with all the crap in the way. Plus the system's been empty so long I doubt any of it is good. Up here you only need A/C a couple weeks a year so I hardly use it anyway. I'm glad to be rid of the clutter and weight.

Last week it was near triple digits by me with 85% or more humidity. Talk about sweating your cajones off! Walking outside from an air conditioned room was like diving into a swimming pool. My glasses fogged up constantly. I work 12-ish hours mostly outside unless I'm driving. The Foxbox is an oven even with the windows down. I got used to it for the most part. I drank about 2 gallons of water/Gatorwhiz every day. I also got the last room-sized air conditioner in the store. I set that sucker to 66 degrees as soon as I get home. Best 120 bucks I've spent in a long time. Freon FTW!!!
