Got myself a new car last weekend!
Hey guys,
I picked this up for myself last weekend from Lynwood, WA.
Its a 99 Legacy GT Wagon, 132k miles. It's an auto but oh well. It's fully loaded, heated leather seats, sun/moon roof, spoiler, etc. It has 6 pages of maint. records from Chaplin's Subaru from 24k miles. head gaskets, timing belt, etc. all look brand new, CVs look new etc. I am VERY happy with the car. I paid 5200 for it and it KBBs for 7k. Main reason I wanted to buy a "newer car" is because I need to establish credit for a house so once I saw this I couldn't pass it up. Kinda scarey buying from a used car dealership because they obviously just want to make as much money as possible off of every car with little invested, but this was a damn good find. Just thought I'd share with the legacy family. All I've done so far is a K&N filter and snorkus delete. Plans are Borla replica header and catback (not sure which brand yet), coilovers, my Tommy Kaira wheels, HID's, Morrette headlights if I can find them, and then try to find a wrecked STi for the swap once it's paid off.

Very nice car, and a good deal to boot. Especially for a rebuild.
93 legacy wagon L, 22T swapped (TW imitator) now with five forward speeds. (Gone, but never forgotten)

Looks like a nice car!
I've always loved the exterior of the 2nd gen Legacies, especially the GT's.
You've gotta keep the stock wheels, those were great wheels

Re: Got myself a new car last weekend!
and thanks guys, I love the car. It's hard to keep it so clean haha. I love the stock wheels as well, but I love my JDM wheels because they stick out and everyone knows its me. I need coilovers and tires before I can install them permanently though so hopefully next year. Do you guys think I should powdercoat my stock wheels? I was thinking black or gold might look good, but I'm open to opinions

I was implying that a car that nice for that little money must be rebuilt. It was my best attempt at humor.Mattheww044 wrote:what do you mean for a rebuild?beatersubi wrote:Very nice car, and a good deal to boot. Especially for a rebuild.
I also like the look of those wheels. They are heavy, though. I had a set on my BJ, rattle-canned gunmetal. They looked pretty good clean, and not too bad dirty.

Pretty clean, nice d/d. I guess the only thing I would be paranoid about is the chronic head gasket stuff on these.
Will be jealous if/when this gets an STI swap.

Head gaskets/timing belt, etc all look brand new, no complaints yet. The tranny seems to be a bit finicky but I'm not AWD to autos so I'm not sure if it's normal or not
