Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Started to clean some stuff up today now that the car runs and drives.
Took the airbox setup out and cleaned under it. Cleaned the airbox too, looks brand new now.
Eventually, probably over this winter, I will be taking all of this shit back out so the bay can be properly shaved and resprayed.
Put the driver side door panel back on now that I have fixed the malfunctioning lock:
I still want to find someone who can reupholster the door panels in some nice black suede. Anyone know a guy?

What's up with the power locks?
Speedo, do you have the cable hooked up?

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
I’m not sure what is up with the power locks honestly. So originally the driver door wouldn’t open and after inspecting inside there seems to be some sort of actuator in there. It is not plugged in because that door was purchased off a LHD car, so I guess there is no wiring there for it. I’m having a similar problem with the rear hatch, where it won’t open from inside or outside.
Speedo cable is hooked up to tranny, I have not checked the back of the cluster yet.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
On the power door locks, these cars were kind of funky because the LHD driver's door did not have any sort of electrical actuator installed on it. However, the other doors did have actuators that locked/unlocked and were triggered by unlocking/locking the driver's door.
With the RHD cars I would assume it's the same way except with the right front door. I would check to see if there is wiring going to the front left door that would trigger the stock actuator and see if that can be fitted to whatever was put in on the LHD door.
For the rear hatch you'll need a multi-meter and need to check the wiring.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Awesome, I will see what is going on with the other side and report back. The rear door will be interesting because it has the trim on it, and is of course stuck shut.Legacy777 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 5:38 pm On the power door locks, these cars were kind of funky because the LHD driver's door did not have any sort of electrical actuator installed on it. Today I went to a friends machine shop to see about some exhaust options. Left with a plan to put the up-pipe back on, bend some pipe and weld it to a flange that matches the up-pipe. Going back tomorrow to make that happen.
Bent this scrap pipe to visualize
Also here is a picture of my old car for good measure

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
I have an exhaust!
I also took the opportunity to check out everything under the car while it was on the lift. There are definitely a bunch of things that need to be addressed:
Need to Replace:
Rear Driver Side Axle
Front Passenger Side Axle
Front Passenger Tire
Rear Driver Tire
Driveshaft Carrier Bearing Assembly (I think that's what its called)
Rear Trailing Arm Bushings
Front lower control arm rear bushings
Rear Subframe Bushings? (See Pic Below)

It looks like you could use a new rear subframe based on that rust....not just a bushing.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
More quarantine updates!
I finally picked up a set of rear trailing arms and lateral links, in addition to both rear wheel bearings, front lower control arm bushings, a coolant overflow tank and some other stuff I cant remember.
Much of the underside of my car is super gross. Working on a list of parts that need replacement and will procure those before removing everything for undercoating. If you have anything that you see I need in the below photos, please PM me!
All bars installed:

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
Are those sti trailing arms and control arms? Or just pink aftermarket variants? I'm looking to wide track my wagon since I'm swapping in an sti crossmember and steering rack.
