WRX Wagon Suspension -> onto a 1994 Legacy Wagon

Post by bignose »

Will it work ? A friend told me that the AGX's are only marginally better than the stock wrx struts. Not enough different to justify the cost diff.

Will the struts/springs from a Stock WRX wagon fit a 1994 Legacy Turbo Wagon ?

Are these a suitable upgrade for a tired old legacy ?

The fronts may fit, however the rears may be a little more difficult. I think the wagons had the same design as the previous years.....

Even if everything is a direct bolt on, spring rates & damping rates may not be ideal.

May want to check nasioc and see what the spring & damping rates are for the wagon, and then compare them to the stock numbers, and aftermarket.

I have put the stock stuff from a WRX onto a legacy wagon, although mine had a "coilover" kit on them so it wasnt an issue. The struts bolt up though.

hope that helps.

COuld you define coilover...

Post by mgjs1 »

Could you define "coilover" for me. And explain why that solved problems porting over from a WRX to your Legacy Wagon.

I have a 93 Legacy Wagon that I would love to replace suspension parts on and want to do it right. WRX stuff seems attractive. I have WRX springs, but they are from a sedan, so I don't wanna use them.

Anyway, I really just would like to know what a "coilover" is and does.

Thanks

A coilover would be something like this:

They are height adjustable, allowing you to make up some differences in spring height between wrx->legacy
