Check your turbo for cracks !
I took my VF11 and TD04 to a turbo specialist, to have an idea of their condition.
He told me "The VF11 has a real bad habit of cracking on the turbine houssing..." and after a quick look at mine (140 000km), we saw that is was all cracked.
So... take a look at this ! hehe it may not be a enormus problem, but at long term, the housing will bent due to cracking, and sleeves will wear quicker.

mine has acrack in it too... gutted as I only found out when the car was stolen and caught by the police (this was last week, had the car 5 days at that time...).
The scumbags that took it blew the clutch so the guys fixing it got to give her the once over and found an old established (ie rusting) crack in the houseing. said it will be fine until it goes and then I'll need a replacement unit that I shoudl probly have reconditioned. sound about right to you?

Loz,
Where are you and what do you drive? That's a bummer about the thieves, but at least you got it back.
Try Deadbolt for a new or reconditioned one, including TD05's W/proper inlet. You can find them in the for sales...

Maybe you could convince the insurance the turbo was damaged by the joyriders and get some turbo compensation for an upgrade or new OEM, although a used OEM should be easy to find. I have one, but am not ready to part with it yet.

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
Looks more like a casting fault than an actual crack to me. Wouldnt worry too much about it unless the cracks go right thru, its just something that castings sometimes do when theyre either overstressed or particularly crap material is used (looks like the cause here). It would be interesting to see if a new one had the same cracks though as personnally I would think they probably would.
If only I hadnt bought the bike, this would feel fast :P

Hello all!
I am in the Leeds Bradford Area and I drive a 92 Turbo estate. She is just great, why you would spend 4-20 times as much on an impreza is beyond me. unless its an "impress her" you are after. In which case I have that covered elsewhere...
Great forum!
