Yeah, he's never appeared on IM, either.
From what I've gathered, he may have had some problems with drinking and such --but that may be just cause he's in college. :D
You're right though, he did just vanish.
At least Cipher kinda said goodbye.. or at least, we knew he was taking some kinda sabbatical.

I've spoken with both ciper and mtk (relatively) recently. Ciper is still around somewhere doin the subaru thing, having improved the vrg fcd and having a bunch of prebuilts to sell, and mtk was somewhat vague, although he has replaced the damaged parts from his back-up incident and is awaiting a paint job.
