Griots One man brake bleeder

Post by JasonGrahn »

How fitting, the 1st post to the brake area is a write-up on a product i used yesterday. :)

"The Finest One Man Brake Bleeder" from Griots Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=35700) is a really nice tool for getting all your old brake fluid out and getting new fluid in. It connects to your air compressor and with a squeeze of the handle your brake fluid starts its way out.

This tool is REALLY convienent if you don't have other people around to help with you fluid change. While it does make it extremely simple to take out the old and put in the new, I found that it can't guarantee that all the air bubbles are out of the system as well.

To get your system fully done, I would use this to get new fluid into the line, then finish up with the standard brake pedal method.

I found the reservoir refill bottle that Griots has (pictured http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=85700 as the little blue bottle) really nice as well. You fill that up and sit it upside down in your reservoir. As the brake level lowers, it refills it. Very simple, very effective; VERY handy.

Would I get the system? Yeah, if i didn't have anyone around to help. Is it worth the $$, yeah, if there isn't anyone around to help. Do I need this product, no, not really.

Have fun!
