FS: V1 STi limited edition swap

Post by Matt Monson »

Hello,
I've decided to sell my V1 swap. This is a limited edition v1 from the first run of the Impreza wagons done for STi. They pulled these cars off the line in July of 1994 and sent them off to STi for massaging. This is engine number 200 of a 200 unit run. I've got the plate that goes with it.

It's a closed deck block. I forget the exact mileage on the thing, but IIRC it was around 50k miles. It comes with a complete wiring harness as well as the very rare SA ECU. This ECU was chipped by STi and according to Rob Files (who many people know as the guy who burns chips for these ECUs) it's got some of the most aggressive timing he's ever seen on a factory ECU. It's mapped to 1.1bar and a 7500rpm fuel cut. This is a race ECU and very hard to find. I never installed this engine in a car so I cannot with 100% sureness claim anything about the condition. It's been sitting in my garage for the better part of two years.

Everything you need for a swap is here, except two things. There's no turbo. It came with a 90-degree Td05 but the exhaust housing was cracked, so I threw it away. I also do not have the charge pipe for the intercooler. jdmDave was in a pinch, so I sold it to him for his car figuring I could find another one when I got around to installing this engine. I don't really want to sell it, but I'm not going to get around to putting it in a car any time soon.

I am asking $1500/obo. I don't intend to take very many pictures of this thing because many of the parts are boxed up and safely stored. I'll pull them out for a real buyer who wants to inspect them firsthand before handing me a wad of cash. People who have bought other swaps from me can vouch for the quality of engines I buy and sell. Lowballers will just be ignored.

Is this still OBD-I? Might be fun to put this into my wagon... along with a 5MT, of course.

JDM stuff technically doesn't comply with an OBD parameters. But as far as the year is concerned it's concurrent with USDM OBD-I stuff. It's a 4 plug harness that's near identical to an SS harness.
