Need help!!!! Need info!! Broken shift rod!

Post by jdmleggy97 »

Well the story goes I put the motor and trans in my car a few days Ago and get ready to start it up but the neutral safety switch was damaged upon installation.. So I proceed to replace it and unscrew the bit of linage that holds the cable and snap!! The rod that comes out of the trans that the cable bolts too breaks off inside the transmission! Is there anyway to replace this rod without removing the trans? Maybe trough the pan?? I don't have a clue any help would be great!!!

Any chance you could take a picture?

If it's what I think it is, I don't know if you can get the inhibitor switch and such out without removing the trans. I think you may be able to, but I'm not 100% clear on exactly what part you're talking about.
