Carbon Sunroof Replacement, Interest Poll, Just Post Vote
Hello, as many of you may be following in the thread in the Misc. Forum Axis Composites is considering making a carbon fiber replacement for the sunroof. This part will be made with actual carbon fiber, Nomex honeycomb core, and heat cured resin. We have already done this for a Nissan S13, see picture below.
The pricing will be in the $130 ballpark. If there is enough interest then I will provide a firm quote. As with all items produced by Axis, we are a custom shop and can change the fabric weave to provide the specific aesthetic look you are after. We traditionaly build parts out of 3K 2x2 Twill carbon fiber but have a variety of hybrid weaves available.
The current plan is to create a direct replacement for the glass. This means that the carbon fiber part will be the same physical dimensions as the glass and is plug-and-play. However, if there is enough interest in an part that includes mounting area/hardware then we may be able to explore that option further.
Please let me know if there are any questions or comments I can help address.
Thank you,
Lee

My vote:
"Yes, I want one and want to get rid of the factory mounting. I do not care if it opens"
The poll doesn't have any way to cast a vote.

Re: Carbon Sunroof Replacement, Interest Poll, Poll fixed
Hmm... It seems that I can't create a working Poll in the Vendors forum. I can create a poll in the Misc. forum that works but the same thing does not work here. When I do the Preview I get the option to cast a vote but once I Submitt it removes the option.
Mods, is there a reason for this?
In the meantime, please just throw up a quick post if you want to cast a vote and I'll make note of it.
Thanks for the current votes and keep the information coming. It would be easier to justify tooling costs if there are more than three people interested. If there are any questions about design, cost, etc., please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you,
Lee

Re: Carbon Sunroof Replacement, Interest Poll, Just Post Vot
I looked at the poll and it looks ok. I resubmitted it, let me know if it's still not working.
Still not sure if it's working.....let me know....if not, I'll create a new poll.

It's not letting me vote

Poll should be working now. I had to go in and mess with the forum permissions. If it still doesn't work, just holler.
