How can I bring out that Subaru sound more.

Post by Weston_Duyck »

I only have a 93 N/A Legacy :( but I would like to get a good sound from her. I already de-snorkus it but that's about it. Any ideas?

Is that like a high flow cat? Or just get rid of it all?

it woudd be headers and then have a cat back made at an exhaust shop with a high flow muffler. you can get away with leaving the cats alone.

I had a Magnaflow on my Toyota pickup and it sounded pretty good. It was really loud, but I had no resonators or cats at the time... Seems like the cops here don't pick on truck owners, it's the fast and furious sedan/coupes that get their attention.

I'd second getting an upgraded muffler. That will help a lot in getting you the subaru rumble. When I upgraded the exhaust on my car before I went turbo charged, the exhaust had some droning on the highway, but was manageble.

You don't necessarily need the loudest exhaust to have the subaru sound, just an aftermarket muffler that is geared towards performance.

You could use a turbo manifold modified to fit or customize an N/A y pipe to be unequal length.I know at least one person here has done this.

A generic magnaflow or borla would probably be your cheapest option. An exhaust shop should be able to fab something up.
