I want to see what my options are for mouting the two guages. Any ideas, or even better pictures?

There are a few threads with pics of these setups from many users...

I had my boost gauge on the steering wheel column, visually centered in the middle of the tach.
Wideband I mounted in/over the center air vent, closest to the driver.

I just posted pictures of my recent center vent installation in my build journal.

You can kind of see what BSOD2600 is talking about in this picture. I have his car now, and still use the same setup. The boost gauge lines up exactly in the center of the tach and doesn't obstruct anything when actually sitting in the car. The wideband is completely visible as well, but you can barely see it peeking out from behind the steering wheel in this picture.

Kimo, that looks good. I dont want to screw holes into my column or dash. How did you take out and fab the piece of plastic to fit? Also how do you post photos on here?

You host them on photobucket.com and they will give you codes to copy and paste for each picture and you just paste them on here and they show up.

I originally was trying to take the center vents out and fill in all the holes after removing the vent blades themselves. That almost worked out and would have been much nicer because I would be able to remove that whole piece by itself any time I needed access to the back of the gauges. But I messed it up by not prepping properly before applying the liquid plastic mix and it came apart as I was sanding it. I got sick of working on it so I traced the outline on a sheet of ABS plastic and trimmed it to fit the hole and glued it permanently into the dash bezel. Now I have to remove that whole trim panel to get to the back of the gauges but hopefully I won't have to.

These are all great ideas. I think I like the a pillar placement the most because if I have to replace anything all I would have to do is buy a new section of a pillar plastic and not replace my entire dash. Does any one have a fiberglass one they made that they would be willing to sell? I'll post a new thread on parts shed for one.

pm bmxkelowna i think he had a wrx pillar pod he cut to make work for the legacy i know he isnt using anymore

I have a wrx 3 or 4 pod A-pillar abs plastic panel. Brand new that I didn't end up using.

Could I cut out some plastic circles and epoxy them to the back of the empty slots to cover them up until I would use them? And is it able to fit kimo? Id pick it up off of you for sure.

Will this fit?

The nice part is that its attached to the air suspension blank and doesn't obstruct any of the instruments or controls


But the way I would do it if I was going for a clean interior would be to mount a single din radio at the very bottom of the opening (close to ashtray) then mount a 1.5 din plate above it and install the gauges there.

Piece of abs plastic from amazon.com, traced vent panel on it, rough cut with hacksaw, cut gauge holes with drill bit around the perimeters, file smooth, stationary belt sander to trim it just right and some 3 secone hobby glue.

I like all those ideas, but I saw something along the lines of Kimo's idea but down below a single DIN stereo, in place of the storage compartment. Not sure I'd like blocking the middle air vents...

I've never once used the vents. Always on either defrost or defrost/feet. No ac so no reason to use the vents.

That's an excellent point! My coolant tank is located where the A/C pump goes anyways...
