I won't lie I think it would be sweet to have something like Gramps! It is kinda funny those that he's doing this crazy build and people build monsters on here all the time. Now it might not be 11 seconds fast but they do well for early 90's car... unless your NICO haha his car is crazy. On a side note am I the only one who say the SS in the first episode and was like

I saw it too and wished the build was for that car. But I'm happy it's a Subaru.

I am so excited for this. However EjKilla did this a while back but with a SVX motor. And he has another 6H in an RS. Don't know if he is going to turbo.

This has been a great series so far!! I love the fact that they are putting up a new video every day instead of once a week!

I like the part where he just says no need for a wiring diagram I've done hundreds maybe thousands of looms on these cars. As he rips out most of the wires in the bay. Wish I knew my car that we'll.

Did you guys notice the old engine was a 25d with a turbo style crossmember and wierd DP looking exhaust pipe? Also, it has smooth valve covers, which say to me solid lifters, not HLA.

I am through the first three so far. I feel my skills are like Rod Kimble on "Hot Rod" when he is beating on the engine with a hammer, after watching this. Looking at that mass of wires gave me anxiety!

That's the way those were set up overseas for some reason. If you look up jdm ej25d on eBay you'll see they also had turbo style water pumps, EL manifold. Somewhere in sl-i.net there is a guy with a grand wagon (outback) who has some detailed pics of the crossmember and exhaust setup.

I've seen those before occasionally. From my limited reading, 1995 was the first year of the ej25d in Japan, so it appears that either the car had an engine swap, or their ej25d's weren't offered with HLA.

They got the hlas the same as we did, but for a little longer. We only had the hla 25d heads in 96, they had them in 95 and 96 model cars before they switched to shim over bucket on all of them.

I wonder how much cash they spent on the gramps build so far? On top of all of the new parts it looks to be weeks of custom work getting the H6 fitted into the body and then for a turbo.
