A/C compressor and condenser questions

Coverted my A/C A while back to R-134a, and at the time I did not know what I was doing, needless to say I just used ester oil and now my compressor (calsonic) is slowly getting worse and worse! My question is who makes a reputable replacement compressor, read that remanufactured is junk! is a 4 seasons reman crap? Are oems still available? also read that someone replaced there condenser with the new style parallel flow type, does anyone have a part # or link to a direct replacement?

Thanks!

you might be better off getting a known good one off a parts car as the last OEM one I looked up was hovering around $400 bucks. And remans are a grab bag... sometimes good but mostly don't last as long. I know a lot of people take off perfectly good compressors all of the time and just toss them. Throw a WTB in the parts shed and you might be surprised the response.

I ended up buying a new compressor from Subaru since I went through about 3 used ones. The challenge with the used ones is that you don't know what you're getting and if people didn't use them regularly they could have issues in the future.

You may have better luck with the used ones and using PAG oil.

Can you elaborate about the condenser swap? I don't see a reason to swap condenser.
