Another evoscan question

Hello all. I have a 1993 Legacy EJ22 engine in the back of my 1984 Vanagon. I recently purchased the evoscan software and cable and I can't seem to make it work. My laptop recognizes the cable, but there is no data being transferred. I've picked 7332XX for the ecu setting.

The evoscan website says that it works for 90-98 Subarus so I don't understand why it's not working for me.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Leo

Hi Leo,

I haven't used the software so I'm not sure. Does the website give any troubleshooting tips? Are you using a USB cable to connect to your computer?

If you don't get an answer here in a couple days you may want to try some of the first gen Legacy facebook groups as they are much more active.

Thanks for the reply 777. Yes, the cable is a usb/obd2 cable with the obd2 end modified to add the Subaru select monitor plug. I'm almost positive that my computer recognizes the cable since it chimes when connected. The problem is that the data being displayed on the computer is meaningless.

Evoscan hasn't been all that helpful with me, and I'm not on facebook either.

My suggestion would be to start by reading through this thread

You can review this search for Evoscan and see if any info is helpful.
