1-2 harshness is from being too loose, not too tight. 2-4 then back to three is from too tight. He didnt post what year, if its 2000 or later it doesnt have a brake band. the 2-3 shift uses the brake band rather then solenoids. If it is adjusted to tightly, you can end up with an abrubt shift or it will not shift at all.
