Time for a new engine?
First, let me say that I LOVE my 95 subaru wagon. I know these boards are for the older gen. of subes, but this place has a lot of knowledgeable people. When I start her up in the morning a decent sized cloud of smoke comes it. It's depressing. She's using about a quart a week. sigh. Rings? Valve se...

That's it, I'm coming to this site for all my bru questions. On the jobs I've done in the past, I have had to bleed the brakes. Do I assume the same here. The reason why is I've got about 1.5 hrs of sunlight from when I get home to get the job done, so naturally I'll cut every corner I can. Thanks a...

I don't have a manual!
but i have done a few brake jobs in my day. i guess my biggest question is how to you get the pistons to retract. i know on some cars you can push them back in with a clamo, others you can turn and push, do the subaru brake pistons retract automatically? or do i have to persuade them? you guys are t...

how hard is it to change front rotors and pads?
I have a 95 legacy wagon and it started grinding on my way to work today. How tough of a driveway job is this? The parts are cheap enough. Any info or online article would be a great help. Thanks...Jim

I think the end is near......
My trusty 95 legacy wagon is coming to an end. She has been using oil for a while now, but now she is using a lot of oil. I can understand, it's got 160,000 tough miles, but I don't want to let her go. rebuild or used? I am thinking used cause it's gonna be a lot cheaper. what do you guys think? wha...

I guess it could be..
the differential? I want to say the noise is almost too dynamic, if that makes sense. I would think if it were the diff the noise would be localized, but it strange. this weekend i'm going to check the exhaust and all of my belt. i know i had a frozen tension pulley once, maybe it's that again. we'l...

my legacy wistles at me....
I don't know what it is, but when i wind up my car, it starts making a wistling, high pitch screaming noise. it happens between 2500 and 4500 rpm in every gear except first. i thought it was belts, but it sounds like its coming from the back. exhaust leak? belts anyway? gremlins having a good time? ...

WRX wagon suspension on a 95 Legacy wagon?
I know my car is a little newer, but we don't seem to have a message board, anyway, does anyone know if i can put 2002 WRX wagon suspension (springs/struts complete) on my wagon? I know the spring rate is stiffer in the front, but it seems way softer in the back. will they bolt right on? any help is...
