Engine Swap 99 into 90 Legacy! Still can't make it work! TPS
I have got a serious problem. Have been working on swapping a 99 Impreza 2.2l into my 1990 Legacy 2.2l for about 8 months now. Started out very straightforward, but went south fairly rapidly. After months of sitting I am getting frustrated. The ONLY problem with the swap has to do with the TPS. The ...

I've all but given up...
So basically I am still stuck in the same position as I was at the last reply. I cannot seem to find a microswitch that is resistant that has the proper specs. I am considering swapping a newer ECU into my 90 Legacy. Which ECU would I need to use for it to work properly with this motor? The biggest ...

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE REPLIES! I have to make this damned thing work, and I do n ot currently have a 9...

UH OH!
Well this sucks... The old TPS has a different type of connection to the throttle body then the new one (tried swapping TPS already). I can swap the old throttle body onto the newer intake manifold, but then my idle air control valve will disappear (I believe this is what it is; directly on top of t...

TPS Differences (Wiring)...?!
Hello all. If any of you remember I am swapping a 99 2.2l Impreza motor into my 90 Legacy wagon and I have run into a couple of snags with the wiring... The TPS on my old motor was a 4 pole (white, red, black, brown) and all the diagrams I can find on the new motor show it as ALSO being a 4 pole... ...

I got long block w/ head, intake manifold, exhaust manifold. No accys with it or anything. The old EJ22 definetly at least cracked a head. I heard it was even common on the older Subarus... Replaced thermostat, timing belt, water pump, etc. HG was still ok. It would start up but would nearly immedia...

Overheated...
Old engine only had 105,000 miles but the thermo went bad, and then the water pump failed @ about 75 mph on the freeway. Long story short, the thing has a cracked head, probably warped block. Got VERY VERY hot and I decided to buy a newer motor with low miles (32,000 on new motor). I am really just ...

Question on engine swap! Pls Help!
UPDATE: The intake manifold is actually different and would not bolt on to the old engine after really looking. It appears that I would HAVE to use both intake and exhaust manifold from the new engine and have to do some rewiring... Any help is STILL MUCH APPREICATED! Thank you all! ---- I am tryin...
