Did the car run just fine with no codes before you shut it off? If so i would say its possible that you have a grounding problem, or a battery issue of sorts. check the voltage of the battery and then possibly do some resistance tests in your grounding system.

well if they were a good body shop, they would know better than to move a car with out all engine components in good condition. But who knows i have seen some messed up stuff. its not good to run the care without coolant in the car, because the pump itself needs water too cool the pump internally ...

ok so, 04 wrx.
Today at work I was brought in a 2004 wrx 2.0L 49,000 miles. It had a boost gauge, perrin downpipe, thats all it had. The car came in for a 60K service.
60k service includes:
Air filter,MAF cleaning,, fuel filter, spark plugs, coolant flush, brake flush, tire rotation and oil change ...

Yea the wiring could be painful depending on what manifold you use. But if you use your original wiring for the most part, placement of different sensors hasnt changed too much.
