hvent had the codes pulled yet. I have an appoointment with subaru this week. Auto zone cant pull codes on pre 96 subarus

So my 91 leg turbo SS has been running bad since I got it. High idle, stalling when stopped, and sounds like it is backfiring in the motor. When I push down to the floor the turbo spools up but nothing happens (I mean it stays at the same RPMs). and it shutters and makes a popping noise in the motor...
