honestly swapping in another engnie is probbaly a bad idea unless you plan to change the lome or go standalone

i have the same engine as you
running bigger (550) injectors, a td05 and a standalone

if you have good compression i would consider looking for a 93-96wrx (mt) ecu and turbo (tdo5) this ...

VF10's only came on Automatic Legacy's (badged GT).
yup so far it has done well to .8bar with and air/air IC


Grey top inj are the same as the V1/2 JDM WRX which are 380cc/min

its either a vf-10 or vf-12 hope fully its a 12

the 12 is bigger
if its a 10 then technically its not from a legacy RS but from a legacy GT
200ps vs 220 ps

a TEC setup either a tec 2 or tec 3 (there is currently one for sale on nasioc for 1300 a screaming deal considerin they are almost 3000 new)

its also importatn to note that the liberty RS came withte VF-12 noticablty larger than the vf-10 or vf-11

so the reason that the gda intercooler won't fit is due to the diffent intake manafold the thottle plate on a gda is about 2" closer to the front of the car the turbo geomerty is the same, just without the upturned inlet..

hmm that is intersting ... i thougth the vf-10 was smaller than that .. mine came from a jdm legacy GT (200 hp ~7 psi stock w/ air to water intercooler)

might also consider a vf-30 or vf-39
from vhsinu's testing the 30 and 34 had identical spool/power chartistics .. the 34 is just more expensive due to the berring type

the vf-39 is off the usdm sti .. slightly smaller than the 30 better spool but less top end
