Re: Legacy777's 1990 Legacy Turbo

So far, I have only set all throttle enrichments to 100%, regardless of tip in rate and angle. This helped a lot, but still stumbles from 0% on slow tip in rates. There is a few more tables I have not messed with yet. I've been trying to only alter one table at a time, then collect data on changes o...

Re: Maciek's 2.36L Turbo Build (Update with pics 3.24.14)

So I wanted to enlighten you guys with the interesting back story on the 1993 Legacy turbo wagon. I had my brother purchase this wagon as his winter car 5 years ago. I told him I would do all the maintenance and repair jobs during his ownership, and when he wanted to sell the car in the future, we w...

Re: Maciek's 2.36L Turbo Build (Update with pics 3.24.14)

A little update on the TW. Last week I installed the Hallman MBC, and was gradually increasing boost....trying to get to 16psi. Over 12psi, I popped the TMIC off. And then on the way home I blew a hole in the top radiator hose, spraying coolant all over the engine and windshield....nasty. Since I ha...

'98wagon....thanks for the tip. I might consider it when I split the transmission to fix 5th gear.

BTW....thank you to all who commented on the thread.

Re: Legacy777's 1990 Legacy Turbo

I'm having a bit of stumbling on throttle tip in as well. I've been adjusting the transient throttle enrichment tables in the Haltech software. I've been able to reduce the effect, but not eliminate it completely, yet. I have noticed that it is much more pronounced on a 4EAT setup than the manual ge...

Re: Legacy777's 1990 Legacy Turbo

How is the notchy feeling in the shifting? Smoothing out a little. I know when I installed the LGT transmission in the RSTi with all new shifter bushings, it was so notchy that I thought the angle of the shifter assembly was off with the SS shifter. It has since smoothed out quite a bit. Question ab...

Re: Legacy777's 1990 Legacy Turbo

Great build thread Josh. It took me a long time to get through it....I would get lost for hours in your pic links...and sometimes my brain hurt from information overload (exactly how it should be in a good build thread). Very good job of keeping record of your build, in content and pictures. Your at...

dankberries....by PnP I meant no chopping wires on the car side. The standalone just comes with a plug on the ECU side and wire whips on the other. My first standalone, I chopped all the wires in the car....what a nightmare that was compared to this time around. The MAF is unplugged and only there a...

Re: Maciek's 2.36L Turbo Build (Update with pics 3.24.14)

RSTi pic update, from the 06 LGT transmission swap. The LGT transmission is 4.11 FD and a drop in installation. The transmission I purchased from a member on AWDpirates.net was already used in a GC Impreza. He already split the case and installed the correct speedo gear. He also installed the 04 STi...

Front lip action! Here is what it looks like mounted to the wheel arch of the bumper. Drilled a hole in the lip and bumper for the bolt. http://imp-co.com/pictures/Build/IMG_0536.JPG Nice flow of lines from sideskirts to the front lip. The whole shape of the lip is very close to the profile of the t...

This is one of my favorite all time wagons. Definitely an inspiration to my turbo wagon build.

Gold on red....droool. And that grille is awesome. I built one just like it for my turbo wagon.

I did finish installing the front lip for now. I mounted it to the bumper with zip ties for the time being, and did not glue it together at the seem yet. I'm going to wait till all the snowing is over before I finish it 100%. The JDM scoop is on as well. I was going to take pics this morning, but wo...

Re: Maciek's 2.36L Turbo Build (93 TW updates rollin in)

And I installed the manual boost controller last night. The td05-16g turbo at 12 psi on E85 is pretty bad ass. I couldn't turn it up anymore because all the wheels were breaking loose when boost hit. Then in second gear the 4EAT started slipping the clutches like mad....at 5K RPMs. I'm guessing it's...

Is the butterfly plate on the TB moving freely and closing fully at 0% throttle? I would check that the throttle cable is moving freely without binding.

Somebody should jump on this offer to get the sedan rear skirt shipped over to the USA land....I had to beg people to send it here from Australia when I got mine. Re: Maciek's 2.36L Turbo Build (Update CAR IS RUNNING!!!)

I am currently working on a front lip solution for the turbo wagon. I don't believe it has been done before....at least I have not seen it on this forum. And so far it's looking a lot nicer then the 06-07 STi ebay lip which I had on my 91 SS. I am using a V6 STi lip replica off of ebay....similar pr...

Re: Maciek's 2.36L Turbo Build (Update CAR IS RUNNING!!!)

That makes sense Josh, about the reverse voltages on the TPS....the funny thing is that I just loaded the map from the 91 SS onto the 93 TW and it was reversed....same standalone ECU setup. I need to plug in and double check the 91 SS map when I see the new owner next.

Re: Rear lip, sedan or wagon?

Rear skirts are different between the sedan and wagon. The wagon lip is longer on the sides returning toward the rear wheels. Sedan rear lips were not available in the US and it would have to be sourced from overseas. I had a member on RSLibertyClub ship one for me when I had a sedan. The wagon lip ...
