That's great. Thanks for the help. I cleared the code with my code reader and I'll see if it reappears before doing anything else.

I'm getting this code on a '99 Legacy, 2.2 L. Has anyone else gotten this before and how do I troubleshoot it. There is very little info in my manual except that its "Idle Control System Malfunction (Fail Safe)" Can anyone please help to point me in the right direction here?

Does anyone have a spare grill emblem for a '96 Outback? It's got the 7 stars. I think it's the same one used for several different years. Mines missing and it looks naked without it. Let me please know price.

I had a constant check engine light when the fuel level went really low, and I was able to clear it by disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes. Is this a common problem with this years legacy?
