http://i44.tinypic.com/2n7fd07.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/33dcmef.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/2nauvs6.jpg Here is the mod I used. I took my turbo resonator in to O'Reilly's and matched up the hose connectors. They found a heater hose connector to use for one of them. I used JB plastic weld to secure...

Re: Coffe cup mod, then CEL codes
So I unplugged the battery to clear the codes. Those codes are gone, now I have a knock sensor code. Could a bad HLA throw the knock sensor? I haven't changed out the passenger side hla's yet. Or are knock sensor codes usually a problem with the sensor itself? I think when I put the motor back in, I...

Coffe cup mod, then CEL codes
I did a coffee cup mod from the intake parts wall at O'Reilly's. I cleaned the MAF at the same time. Now I'm getting the following CELs: cam angle, crank angle, and improper MAF. I used a 3" straight pipe with a silicone reducer to 2.5". I'm wondering if the soft silicone reducer could be ...

Re: 'lectrical problems after dash swap
I took it back apart and found a plug that got stuck up on the backside of the dash. Plugged 'er in and everything works like a charm now.

'lectrical problems after dash swap
I swapped out my old wrecked dash for a one I got off a parted out car. Now the following items won't work: Automatic seat belts 4 way flashers turn signals I've checked for loose plugs and fuses, but can't find anything unplugged or blown. Any ideas? I plan on pulling it apart and checking for hidd...

Re: Seized Cam?
I've got about 30 miles on it now. It runs pretty solid. I discovered a coolant drip on the passenger side, I think the line feeding the turbo. It did shudder/buck under hard acceleration in 2nd/3rd gear. Vacuum leaK?

Re: Seized Cam?
So I got it all put back together and started it up. It ran pretty well but it got hot. I think it's a little low on coolant. I'll fill it all the way up and run it around the neighborhood for 10 miles or so before I venture out further. Fingers crossed.

Re: Seized Cam?
So the cam was seized in the collar on the front of the engine. The mechanic re-honed it and I re-installed it (with a lot of lube). The motor then ran for about 10 miles before that cam seized again, but not in the same spot. The mechanic took it back and figured it hadnt been getting oil. He freed...

Re: Seized Cam?
As far as I know, it's the original ej22t in my 94 SS. The right cam and crank both move freely. I guess I'll try to pull the head off and have a talk with the shop that rebuilt the heads.

Seized Cam?
I had my heads rebuilt. I got the engine started the other day. It ran great for about 10 seconds before it banged to a stop. I pulled the timing covers off and the driver's side cam seems to be seized. I can move it very slowly with a wrench, but it's definitely stuck. Two questions: Anybody had th...

Re: So I pulled my NA 2.2 last night
I attempted to install my rear main seal. It pushed past the face of the back of the engine, so it sits a few millimeters down inside the gap there. Is this a problem? I don't think I'll be able to remove it without ruining the seal.

Motor + transmission mount
I need to replace the broken stock mouns on a '94 SS. I'm looking at sti mounts and it looks like I need the brackets as well. I'm also thinking about a new transmission mount. Will any 5 speed mount work in the legacy? Any that don't work? I've searched a bit but cant find a definitive answer.

Re: Turbo clutch replacement options
I'm having my flywheel resurfaced. Could I use it with a kit for an 02-04 wrx? I'm having a hard time finding the specs on both flywheels.

Turbo clutch replacement options
I'm going to replace the clutch on my '94 SS. I'm not sure to just pick up one from Napa or to look for a more high-performance one. My car is stock now, but wouldn't mind a bigger turbo and intercooler in the future. Anybody have a clutch/flywheel to recommend? I'm seeing a variety of possibilities...

Re: Clicking Fan turning on, plus codes 35, 51
So I replaced the solenoid and unplugged the green connecter. No more CELs. I do have a persistent tick after it warms up. Sounds more substantial than hla's. I'll make a video and post it for evaluation. Thanks for the help.

Clicking Fan turning on, plus codes 35, 51
I just resurrected a 94 SS 5mt from sitting for 9 years. It is now running. When I turn the ignition key on prior to start, I hear a persistent clicking that seems to be coming from the center back part of the engine bay. When I turn the car off, it also continues to click for several seconds. Also ...

Re: Noise from clutch
Be sure to be patient when you do your clutch cable. It's a major pain getting it re-connected to the back of the clutch pedal. It's a blind job so you're doing it by feel. I ended up cussing a fair amount but didn't have to throw anything.
