Yea, I had hoped that's all it was. Everything's filled to spec with Redline.

A month or so ago, I noticed that the transmission didn't like to shift into gear right away when put into "D" first thing in the morning. It would take 3-4 seconds before it finally engaged. I noticed, however, that if I dropped it in to "1" instead, it would engage immediately. Later on though ...

No, I haven't done anything to the throttle body. I thought I've read that touching the idle screw was a no-no?

Oh, and I forgot to mention. All of those RPM's listed are with the A/C on. They're even higher with it off.

Ok, first the symptoms:

When the car is started in the mornings, it will immediately rise to about 2k. Then slowly start to fall until it stalls. I need to bump the accelerator a few times to bounce it back up until it sticks around 2k. Then it will slowly hunt down to around 1.2k and hold ...

To actually ANSWER your questions, though:

Someone here had a stick on "WRX-style" hoodscoop. And, if I recall correctly, people liked it.

He had said the actual quality of the scoop left much to be desired, but he was overall happy with the ...

I did forget to mention, I did install a new alternator, too. That fixed a few problems. Namely, the battery light would pop on at night occasionally when I had the headlights on.

Recently, my car has been a little "quirky" at idle. I've noticed it's more common on colder days (in Miami, "cold" is between 50-60* FYI). When I start the car in the morning, the RPM's are generally just under 2k, and they'll sit there for a while. Occasionally, they'll slowly go down about 200rpm ...

Well, my transmission mounts are shot.. I checked around for replacements, and they're around $140 or so. Are there any cheaper options? Will a WRX auto tranny mount work?

My steering u-joints seem to be binding. Has anyone replaced these? If so, would you happen to have the P/N handy? I was initially convinced it was my steering rack, but after careful diagnostics I've found these to be the culprit.

Could be injectors. Have you checked your spark plugs?

While you're checking things, just for the hell of it.. check your oil. Make sure there's no coolant in it. If there is, it will look milky.

It doesn't sound like a blown headgasket, however, when I blew the head gasket on my Trans Am, it had a similar problem.

That one though looks like it would work without too much modification on my setup...

It all comes down to the old adage, "You get what you pay for" .. although, I have seen a few going on eBay for considerably less. I really have no complaints. It hasn't screwed up my idle ...

On my '93 SS, it was on the right side.. totally opposite of that in the pictures. It's there, trust me. I got so fed up, and I swearing something awful at the car.. I had someone else take a look, perhaps another set of eyes might help..
