Hand Operated Vacuum Assisted Hydraulic Clutch

Post by Legacy777 »

I got an email from a guy the other day asking me to help him find a way to make his 5spd wrx clutch operate via a motorcylce clutch lever.

He gave me this link as an example.
www.amphicar.net/minnow/controls_of.htm

What the amphicar guy did was really amazing.

I suggested something similar to the guy asking about the WRX. I told him finding an older brake mastercylinder/booster setup would probably be the best way to go. The hard part is sizing it properly so you retain the same clutch fork stroke, yet utilize the full stroke of the motorcycle clutch lever.

The amphicar guy also designed & patented motorcycle controls for physically challenged riders.

I think F1 cars have hand clutches on the back of the wheel behind the shift paddles.
