New self reward, Browning Buckmark Standard

Post by skid542 »

I haven't been posting much on the board recently because I've been extremely busy working and backpacking and such, though still lurking a lot, but I got a new 'toy' and had to share. I did pretty good last semester and so I decided to get myself a .22 pistol. I did some looking around, looked at the Rugger, S&W, Browning and some others.

I got it thursday and took it up to the range and, wow, it's a sweet pistol. I took a little time to get the fully adjustable rear sight set, 16 click on both elevation and windage. I can reliably hit pop cans at 50 yds, sitting without a rest. Doing rapid shots it has a jump and then drops right back down on target. I've only put 400 rounds through it but am already doing 1x2' groupings at 30yds. I've shot some nice balanced pistols in my day, but this is one of the best. It's not the lightest at 34oz, but it's steady. A total of 600 rounds have been through it without a single jam or anything. I am extremely happy with it and worth the 317 total I paid to get it brand new. If anyone is looking for an accurate pistol this is what'd I recommend. Cheap ammo and easy on the ears too. It's effective too and when I compared penetration on the same block of hardwood to my .22LR rifle, the pistol was only slightly less at 50yds. Anyrate I just wanted to share since I know there's a few shooters on the board and of course, happy 4th of July everyone (and Canada day for the northerners).
