TPS?

Post by stipro »

I have been trying to track down a wierd type of hesitation/ miss.

This is what happens, I can drive flat out, foot to the floor, smooth as expected. How ever if I drive at a steady speed, any gear, any speed the car will feel like it momentarily loses power and returns to normal, like the timing is backing off. Also if I slowly lift my foot off the accelerator, while driving at a steady speed, then it bucks a few times, like the TPS voltage is jumping lower instead of decreasing smoothly. Its all I have to go on right now. I installed new plugs + wires. Or maybe old fuel filter?. Need some answers any help is good help.

Thanks.

You can check the TPS fairly easily... Use my scantool or a voltmeter and check the TPS signal as you slowly move the throttle open and back closed. Make sure the signal changes smoothly.

If you can go full throttle without trouble I wouldn't suspect the fuel filter.
