The models below LS, I believe for 90-91 had the non-honeycomb grille. I have seen some mesh in McMaster-Carr that was .25" hexagon openings. Looked like it might be interesting for grillework, but haven't actually seen it in person.

on refreshing black trim....there is that eagle one "wet" trim stuff....I've used it in the past, but I just bought, and have yet to try, "black magic" trim stuff...its actually black, like a dye or whatever. They suggest taping off the painted areas around the trim. It comes to me highly recomended from a variety of sources. I bought it at the biggest aftermarket BMW supplier in the country, on the same rack as the zymol products...so by association, its gotta be pretty good. Anyways, I'm looking forward to using it on the black ground effects on the legacy GT. And the legacy turbo has got that trim around the front bumper, and all around the sides of the car....I still got to find some skirts for that car though.
Good luck

If you find a good place for skirts, let me know. I wouldn't mind getting some skirts for the sides and rear.

Whoa yes just had an excelent idea. Go get two L grills, saw a couple at the yard. Paint one of them full black, paint another one black on the inside and red on the trim, then paint mine full red (thought that might be a bit much). :D I'll see what I can come up with and try to post some pics.
