My car was on a semi-flood....

Post by lleiro »

Hi Fellas,

I need some help if possible. My wife got stocked in the water yesterday due to heavy rain here in SC. Water got up to let's say 3/4 of the wheels...

She drove the car for 15miles after that and then stops all of a sudden not been able to start the engine again.

It cranks but doesn't start. Been familiar with computers more than with cars I took off every fuse to try to isolate the problem, but I need to know which fuses or relays I should let on to do my trial.

Any other ideas will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

BTW.... it is a 95 Subaru Legacy Brighton (Wagon)

Did it get wet inside the car?

do all of your dashlights come on like normal?

IIRC, the ECU is in the floorboard of the passenger seat - if water got in the car, you're screwed - please correct me someone if I'm wrong, it may be in the dash, but i thought it was in the floorboard.

taking it to a mechanic is probably your best bet.

The ECU is up under the dash.

The controller under the pass seat is the ABS ECU.
